Gear Up For St. Patricks Day, What To Drink:

As you all know, the end of February is here, that can mean only one thing. March is next in line, with the month of March comes that one holiday that we all just can’t wait for. The day when everybody gets to be Irish, St. Patricks day. So, I ask you, do you plan celebrating St. Patricks day this year? If so, how do you plan on doing so? are you going to stay home and cook corned beef, and cabbage, and potatoes? Perhaps you are planning on hitting the bars this year, I propose that we take extra precautions and stay home to drink this year. And, why would’nt you when you can get everything you need to get the luck of the Irish in you delivered right to your door? Why not try some of these great recipes that I have for you in today’s article?

Pickleback Shots:Pickle brine drink:

Here is something fairly new to the market of shots. I say new even though it has been around since 2006. Created by Reggie Cunningham, a bartender at the Bushwick country club in Brooklyn New York. When a customer requested a drink of pickle brine, Reggie suggested a shot of whiskey first, then followed by the shot of pickle brine. This unusual combination has since become a favorite in bars across the nation. Is this something that you would give a try?

1) 1 1/2 ounces of Irish Whiskey

2) 1 1/2 ounces of pickle brine juice

To Make; Pour a shot of Irish whiskey, and a chilled shot of pickle brine juice. ( The original was made with McClures spicy pickle brine ) Take the shot of Irish whiskey first, then chase it down with the pickle brine. And, there you have a pickleback shot. A few of these, and you have the luck of the Irish in you for sure.

Spirits Used:

Bushmills Red Bush Irish Whiskey

Shamrock Shake Smash:

An adult version of an ice cream float, made with that favorite shake that we wait all year for. The McDonalds Shamrock Shake. Paired with, a stout beer made by Guinness. This just may be your pot of gold, no rainbow required. Although, you may see a rainbow after a few of these drinks.

1) 1 Bottle or can of Guinness Beer

2) 2-3 scoops of McDonalds Shamrock shake

To Make; You can make your own Shamrock Shake if you are feeling crafty, all you need is some vanilla ice cream, a little bit of milk, whole or 2 percent will work just fine for this recipe, you will also need some mint extract, and 4-6 drops of green food coloring. May as well get some use out of it after coloring some Easter eggs with the kids. Make them a milkshake as well, just don’t give them the beer with their shake.

If you are using the McDonalds Shamrock Shake, Place in the freezer to harden up for about 30 minutes. In a pint glass, or a mason jar, my favorite way of making this, pour in the Guinness Beer about 3/4 the way to the top of the glass, this is to prevent the ice cream from making a big mess. Take your Shamrock Shake out of the freezer, and use an ice cream scoop, or a large spoon to scoop two scoops into your beer. And enjoy. Remember to leave the beer out for the children.

Spirits Used:

Guinness Draught Adult Shake:

Dublin Drop:

No longer politically correct to call this one an Irish car bomb, a reference to a dark past of Ireland s rich history, this bomber style shot is still very popular state-side, especially on St. Patricks day. It is recommended that you drink this cocktail quickly, before your left with a curdled glass of beer, whiskey and Irish Cream.

1) 1/2 an ounce of Irish Cream Liqueur

2) 1/2 an ounce of Jameson Irish Whiskey

3) 1 can or bottle of Guinness Beer

To Make; Add Irish Cream Liqueur, and Jameson Irish Whiskey to a shot glass, layering the Irish Cream on the bottom. Pour Guinness into a pint glass 3/4 the way up, and let it settle. Drop the shot glass into the Guinness and drink quickly. Don’t be too aggressive with the tilt, you don’t want the shot glass hitting your teeth.

Spirits Used:

Jameson Irish Whiskey

Baileys Irish Cream Original

Guinness Drought

The New Irish Breakfast:

This unusual cocktail will remind you of fresh baked banana bread. And is great on the rocks ( over ice ) or as an unexpected addition to any classic whiskey cocktail. We have decided to keep thing simple, by adding a few ounces of fresh squeezed orange juice. Hence, the reason why I call this a breakfast cocktail. Perfect for a Saturday or Sunday brunch, as well.

1) 2 ounces of banana- infused Jameson Irish Whiskey

2) 1-2 ounces of fresh squeezed orange juice

To Make; Combine the Irish whiskey with the orange juice in a cocktail shaker with some ice, shake until the liquid is good and cold. Strain over a large format ice cube in an old- fashioned glass. Garnish with a pinch of black sugar sprinkles.

To infuse the whiskey with banana flavor- slice two ripe bananas and put into a clean jar, with an airtight lid. Pour half of a 750ml. Bottle of Jameson Irish Whiskey into the jar and close tightly. Let it sit on the counter in a dark spot and turn gently once a day. After 4-5 days, strain the banana slices out, using a fine mesh strainer and pour the whiskey through a coffee filter back into the jar. Refrigerate for up to one month.

Spirits Used:

Jameson Irish Whiskey

Orange Juice

Morning Wake Up Call

Irish Flag Shot:

Everything you want in a festive drink. This one just may leave you wanting more. It may look difficult to make at home, when in fact it is quite easy to pull off.

1) 1 ounce of Green Creme de Menth

2) 1 ounce of Baileys Irish Cream Original

3) 1 ounce of Orange Liqueur

To Make; Pour the Creme de Menth into a shot glass. Slowly float the Baileys Irish Cream over the Creme de Menth by pouring it over the back of a bar spoon. Using the bar spoon again, float the orange liqueur over the Baileys Irish Cream. A perfect salute to all of those Irish heroes.

Spirits Used:

Baileys Irish Cream Original

Grand Imperial Orange Liqueur

DeKuyper Creme de Menth Green Liqueur

Jameson Whisket Sour:

This is an old classic, you can’t go wrong with. One that knocks it out of the park every time it is served. Try it at home for yourself, and see if I’m steering you wrong.

1) 60 ml. of Jameson Irish Whiskey

2) 4 dashes of freshly squeezed lime juice

3) 1 bar spoon of granulated sugar

4) 1 splash of sparkling water

To Make; Dissolve the sugar with lemon juice and sparkling water in a mixing glass. Add whiskey and fill with ice, stir well. Strain into a rocks glass, and garnish with a cherry.

Spirits Used:

Jameson Irish Whiskey

Classic Cocktails Made With Moonshine: Hand crafted, just for you.

In today’s article, I am giving you some classic cocktails that are made with moonshine. You can not get these fine hand crafted spirits at your local liquor store. The only place that you will be able to get your hands on any of these hand crafted spirits, will be here for as long as this article is still up. Also, keep in mind that the company that distributes these fine hand crafted spirits, does not ship to every state.

The only states that they ship too, are, Illinois, North Dakota, Nebraska, and New Hampshire. I know, it’s a big bummer, hopefully in the near future they will expand the states that they will ship to. Otherwise, they are missing out on a lot of good revenue. I try all the time to get them to expand their shipping territory, but, I get no response. I often use this company because I love the spirits that they are able to get their hands on.

Why Celebrate:Good days Aheasd:

You ask me why should we celebrate this day? I’ll tell you why, this past year has been a struggle for a lot of people. Not just financially, but emotionally as well. Things are starting to make a turn around now.

Even though the infection rate is starting to drop in numbers, this is no time to let our guards down. We should still wear a mask when out in public. And there is still some restrictions on how long the bars and resteraunts can stay open. If you ask me the best thing that we as a country can do, is to stay home and do our celebrations with close family members and friends, keeping the group size down to a few people.

I still say that we should celebrate national wine day at home this year. There is still plenty of reasons to have a celebration. You survived the year 2020 did you not? Plus with the winter weather that we are having across the country, we need a way to keep warm. For me, the best way to keep warm is with a nice bottle of wine, or some other alcoholic beverage. How do you like to keep warm when it is cold outside?

Think Spring:Think Spring Time:

I know what your saying, how can I think spring with all of this crazy weather that is happening across the globe? We are in the third week of February now, so spring is right around the corner. Just another two weeks of winter left for this year.

The calendar has the first day of spring set for March 2nd. And, soon after that I believe that we spring the clocks ahead as well. Check your calendars, it seems like everything is early this year, like Easter and the days before it, like, ash Wednesday, and good Friday. I think the people that make the calender, are trying rush this year.

Maybe, they think that it will help to push this pandemic out of the way. Either way, I am looking forward to spring, and sitting on a shore line with a fishing pole, and an ice-cold beer. Hopefully one or two of my sons will find some time to join me on the shore this year. That will be a great day to mark on the calendar. I know that finding time to enjoy the simple things in life can be trying at time. Hopefully we make this one thing happen this year. Do you have any special plans for this year? Or are you just playing it by ear, and waiting to see what happens? I have already made plans for the wife’s birthday this year. Since last year this pandemic hit right around her birthday, a weekend in Lake George with her sister and her husband as well. Her idea, not mine, Happy wife, happy life. There is a winery close by that area, so maybe we can visit that while we are there. We will have to see next month, if they are open for tours. Keep your fingers crossed for me, won’t you?

Before I forget, I promised to tell you my favorite wine. So here it is, this may surprise you a little, it isn’t a fancy wine by any means. This is one for everyone to enjoy Woodbridge Merlot I hope you give this one a try, not bad for it’s low price.

Looking Ahead:

Maybe, you think that I am crazy for making plans ahead of time. You would be right, I am crazy. Otherwise, why would I have started an online business in the middle of a worldwide pandemic? The short answer to this question is, I simply wanted to bring a home delivery service of alcohol to you good people. Keeping all of you safe from this nasty virus. And, yes, I make a small commission from any purchase that you make from any of the links on this site.

Remember to drink responsibly, and never drink and drive. The life you save may very well be your own. Sincerely: Your friend John D. Have a blessed day friends.

It’s The End Of The World As We Know It: Let’s drink.

As you all know, we have a new leader of the free world, well a free world for now. That may not be the case if the democrats get their way. It seems to me, that they want to do away with the republican party, maybe it’s just me, what do you think about the way the democrat party is going? This is not something that just sprung up out of no where, the democrats have been trying to infringe on our rights for a good many years. The sad part is that the majority of the American people have been blind to this for a long time. I say that it is time for us as Americans to take a stand against them. However, this past election just shows you how oblivious we all are to what it is happening in this country. Now, with our new leader, it’s the end of the world as we know it. let’s drink.

Usually I give you a couple of cocktail recipes in my article, today I thought that I would just keep things simple, and give you a few classic drinks that we all know and love. If you have never had them, then please give them a try tonight. Before I forget, you can get all the alcohol you need with a $10.00 discount . Just use code LUV at checkout.

Bourbon And Seven:Jim Beam & 7-UP:

For those of you who have been here before, you know that Jim Beam holds a special place in my heart. What you may not know though, is my favorite way to drink it is. So, let me share this with you today. I hope that this becomes one of your favorite ways to enjoy a glass of Jim Beam.

First you will need a highball glass ( Tall Glass ) fill the glass with some ice. Add about 2 ounces of Jim Beam Kentucky Sraight Bourbon Whiskey. Top off the glass with chilled 7-UP, then gently stir to combine the ingredients together. Sit back and enjoy.

The pure beauty of this cocktail is that there are only three ingredients Jim Beam, 7-UP, and ice cubes. Can you tell what the theme of today’s article is going to be now?

Spirits used:

Jim Beam

Jack And Coke:Jack And Coke:

This is probably the most iconic cocktail in the world, you go anywhere in the world and ask the barkeep for one of these, and chances are that they know exactly what you are asking for. Take it from me, I have been all around the world, and have been able to order a Jack and Coke no matter where I was at.

Add ice cubes to a highball glass ( Tall Glass ) then pour an ounce or two of Jack Daniels over the ice. Top off with the glass with Coca Cola, and gently stir to combine the ingredients together. Sit back and enjoy the rest of the evening with this three ingredient cocktail.

Spirit’s used

Jack Daniels

This classic cocktail is even easier to make then the two above, it only needs two ingredients to make. Just about everyone has had a screwdriver at time or another during their adult life. And if you haven’t, well then you have been living a very sheltered life. Have you had a screwdriver yet? If not, then this will be a simple cocktail for you to make. So, let’s’s get right to it shall we?

In a glass of your choosing, add an ounce or two of Vodka to the bottom of the glass. Then all that you need to do is top off the glass with some ice-cold Orange Juice. Use a long, or a bar spoon to stir the two ingredients together. And enjoy this classic cocktail after a long day of whatever you were doing. Now, I have to warn you about this drink, the sweetness of the orange juice can trick you into thinking that you are only drinking orange juice. You may forget that you added Vodka to it, and end up drinking more then you ha intended on. Before you know it, you are completely stoned out of your mind, and can longer walk a straight line. So please be careful with this one, it has come back to bite me in the backside a couple of times in my life.

Spirit’s’s Used:

Absolute Vodka

A little side note for you before we move on to the next drink, all of these links are made to open in a new tab. This means that if you click on the link, you will not lose your place here on this page. You will be able to come right back where you left off. Also, I want you to know that I make a small commission on any purchase that you make. Alright, let’s get to our fourth and final classic cocktail for today, shall we?

Gin And Tonic:Breakfast Of Champions:

This one is another favorite of mine, it reminds of a time of friendship and brotherhood. But, that is another story that you can read in an earlier article. That is why I refer to gin and tonic as a breakfast drink. Now, don’t get me wrong here, this classic cocktail can be enjoyed at any time of the day or night. You can have one of them on your daily lunch break. But, don’t tell your boss that I said you could do that, I will deny everything.

In a highball glass ( Tall Glass ) add some ice about half the way up. Pour about an ounce or two of Gin over the ice. Then top off the glass with tonic water, carbonated water. If you would like this drink to be a little bit more sweet, you can add a simple syrup to the cocktail. All that is equal parts of water and sugar brought to a boil, then left to cool.

You can add some lemon or lime wheels for a garnish if you would like to, but it is not necessary to garnish. Garnishing is for fancy people who like to say hey, look at me, I’m fancy. And I know that’s none of you, am I right?

Spirit’s Used:

Tanqueray London Dry Gin

Have A Blessed Weekend:

I hope that you enjoy these cocktails this weekend. It’s the end of the world as we know it. Let’s drink. Maybe we can then find a way to get along with everyone in the world, including the democrats.

Remember to drink responsibly, and never drink and drive. The life you save may very well be you’re own. Sincerely: your friend John D. Have a blessed day my friends.

To A Happy Valentines Day:

I sincerely hope that all of you have a great valentine’s day. Hopefully these cocktails can arm you with a way to show the person you love the most, that you truly do love them. That you are going out of your way to treat them to a good night. While, most other bloggers are trying to sell you a bunch of jewelry that just ends up in the back of the drawer.

I am just trying to help you spread a little love in the world. Alcohol has been helping people fall in love since the first day that it was produced. And thank goodness for that, or this ugly man would have never gotten laid without paying for it. That is actually how I got with my wife back in the day. The night that I decided to call and ask her to go out with me, she was down in her basement with her older brother doing shots of Jack Daniels. So it’s no wonder why she said yes before I could finish asking her out. Just in case you are wondering, no Jack Daniel’s is not my favorite brand of alcohol, that would be reserved for Jim Beam Kentucky Straight Bourbon. Well I won’r bore you anymore.

Remember to drink responsibly, and never drink and drive. The life that you save may very well be your own. sincerely: your friend John D. Have a blessed day my friends.

What Your Man Wants For Valentine: A whiskey club membership.

For many years men like myself have been going out of the way to make February 14 a special day for you ladies. We drive ourselves mad, looking for the perfect way to show you how much we love you. Yes there are the cards that have a tender heart saying on the inside. But, I am talking about the heart shaped box of candy, the stuffed animal, the jewelry, AMD of course the night out to dinner. We as men do these things because we love you, and we want you to be happy.

We never expect much from you in return, but, did you know the deep down we men secretly want something from you to show us just how much you love us in return. And, no, it is not that thing in bed that you ladies always say no too. You know what I’m talking about, don’t you? What your man wants for valentine is a whiskey club membership.

Valentine Day:Valentine Day:

This year to show how much you love your man, may I make a suggestion as to what to get for the man that you love for valentines day this year? Something that is sure to set you apart from all the other women out there.

A gift that will continue to bring joy to the love of your life every month of the year. A gift that he will be able to share with you, as well as his friends, and yours as well.

I know, by now you are champing at the bit, wondering what could this perfect gift for the love of my life be. Well fear not for I am going to tell what this gift is. Plus I am going to let you know where to get this gift for your man. Not only will I tell you where to get tins gift, I will provide you with the way to get this perfect gift for your love. How does that sound to you?

After all, we go out of our way to make the day special for you gals. Don’t you think this year, after how rough last year was, and your man was the glue that held everything together, doesn’t he deserve a little something special for valentines this year? Do I have you on the hook yet? Good, hang in there for a little longer, and I will let you know what this fantastic gift is, do we have a deal?

The Gift:Whiskey Club Membership:

What your man wants for valentines day, is a whiskey club membership. It’s the gift that keeps on giving. The best place that I have found to join is a little place by the name of Flaviar.

Many other memberships are out there as well. None of them can hold a candle to a membership of Flaviar. Trust me in this, I have Checked them all out. I have done the legwork for you.

All you have to do, is decide what plan you would like to go with. You can go with a monthly plan, or you can be a real adventurous, and go with the yearly plan. This is one that I would recommend, this way will save you some money versus the monthly plan. See, I am looking out for your finances.

Remember that I told you this gift may be for him, but, it is like buying a gift for yourself as well. He will be more than happy to share his liquor discovery’s with you. After all you are the love of his life. Now, do you see why I say getting him this gift, is like getting a gift for yourself? You can not go wrong with a Flaviar Whiskey Club Membership. I myself would be thrilled to receive a club membership from my wife.

What You Get:

When you purchase a membership, the recipient will receive a tasting box of their choosing. That is not all that they will get with their membership. They will also get one premium bottle every quarter that they remain a member. Now, that adds up to four premium bottles a year, plus four tasting boxes a year.

They will also get live tasting experiences at no extra charge. This is where they get to meet the people behind the spirits, as well as taste what the distiller has cooked up. But wait, that is not all that you get with a Flaviar membership. You also get to go on tours to all the distilleries that craft the fine spirits that are hard to get in the liquor stores.

That alone is worth the price of a yearly membership. You would think that would be the end of it, and you would be wrong my friends. As a member, you also get exclusive access to the vault opening that happens from time to time. This is where they release never before seen alcohol. You get to get in on the fun of having a bottle of liquor that no one else will ever have in their own home bar. How exciting does that sound to you? I bet now you would like to know what the cost of all this will run you, would’nt you? Well, this will probably surprise you, but it is not going to break the bank. Besides what factor does price have to do with it when it comes to the love of your life, who loves their whiskey?

What You Pay:

You have two options when it comes to payment. First you have the per month program. Second you have the annual program, the best value for your money in my opinion. And, I am not just saying that to get a bigger commission. I get the same amount no matter which program you decide to go with. Yes I make a small commission from your purchase.

For the monthly program your price is $31.67 per month, billed quarterly. For a total of $95.00 this is a pretty good deal, don’t you think?

For the yearly program your price is $25.00 a month, billed annually for a grand total of $300.00 like I said the best deal in my opinion. What do you think.

I know you think that is a little expensive, and I do not blame you for thinking that. But, who can put a price on love and happiness? If you would like to know more about this club membership, click on the banner to the right. You can browse everything that the club has to offer.

Remember I said buying your man a gift of a Flaviar Whiskey Club Membership, is like buying a gift for yourself. Trust me, when I tell you what your man wants for valentine is a whiskey club membership. If you have any questions about the club membership, don’t be afraid to reach out, and I will do my best to answer any questions that you have.

For The Guys:

Gentlemen, if you are struggling to come up with the perfect gift for your special lady, and she happens to be a fan of whiskey, or any other type of alcohol, then, this year give her a gift of a Flaviar whiskey club membership. It sure beats a box of chocolates and a stuffed bear. Seriously if you get her this club membership, do not forget the chocolates as well.

Remember to drink responsibly and never drink and drive. The life you save, may very well be your own. One last thing before I leave you, have a blessed day my friends. Sincerely: John D.

Please remember to drink responsibly and never drink and drive, the life you save may very well be your own. Plus I am tired of going to funerals. So, do not make go to another one. Before I leave you tonight, I want to remind you of my last article, the one about alcoholism. Like I said I am an alcoholic, but I still enjoy a cocktail or two once in a while. If you think that you have a drinking problem, like explained in my last article. Please seek help from a professional that has experience in handling that type of situation.

Once you get a handle on your drinking problem, and learn not to go overboard with it, you too can enjoy a cocktail or two once in a while. Have a blessed weekend my friends. Sincerely John D.

Different Degrees Of Alcoholism: alcohol use disorder.

Normally I write an article and include a few cocktail recipes. Today I am want to talk about the abuse of alcohol use and the affects it can have on a person. Now, there are different degrees of alcoholism, and everyone has a different definition of what an alcoholic is. The program that I attended while in the navy ( NADSAP ) navy alcohol drug and substance abuse program. This was a mandatory class that everyone in the navy had to take, whether we had a problem. They defined an alcoholic as anyone who drinks alcohol, even if you only drink one night a year. In other words, if you drink alcohol, you are an alcoholic. Another definition is someone who’s drinking is out of control, like if you lose your job, car or house due to your drinking, then you are an alcoholic. ->->->CLICK HERE<-<-<- for all your alcohol needs.

Alcohol Disorder:Alcohol Abuse:

This is a level that includes the term alcoholism. It is a pattern of alcohol use that involves problems controlling your drinking. Being preoccupied with alcohol, continuing to use alcohol even when it causes problems. Having to drink more in order to achieve the same affects, or having withdrawal symptoms when you rapidly decrease, or stop drinking all together.

Unhealthy alcohol use includes any alcohol use that puts your health or safety at risk, or causes other alcohol-related problems. This also includes binge drinking- a pattern of drinking where a male consumes five or more alcoholic beverages within a two-hour time period. Or for females who consume at least four alcoholic beverages within a two-hour time period. Binge drinking causes a wide range of health and safety risks.

If your pattern of drinking results in repeated significant distress and problems functioning in your daily life, you more then likely have alcohol use disorder. It can range from mild to severe. However, even a mild disorder can escalate and lead to serious problems, so early treatment is very important.

Symptoms:Serious Problems:

Alcohol use disorder can be mild, moderate, or severe, based on the number of symptoms that you experience. Signs and symptoms may include:

1) Being able to limit the amount of alcohol you consume.

2) Wanting to cut down on the amount of alcohol you drink, or making unsuccessful attempts do so.

3) Spending a lot of time drinking, getting alcohol or recovering from the use of alcohol

4) Feeling a strong craving or urge to consume alcohol

5)failing to fulfill major obligations at work, school, or home due to repeated use of alcohol

6) continuing to consume alcohol even though you know that it’s causing physical, social, or interpersonal problems

7) Giving up or reducing social and work activities, as well as any hobbies that you normally enjoy doing

8) Using alcohol in situations where it is not safe, such as driving a motor vehicle or when swimming

9) Developing a tolerance to alcohol so you need to more to feel it’s affects or you have a reduced effect from the same amount

10) Experiencing withdrawal symptoms, such as nausea, sweating, and shaking, when you do not drink, or drinking to avoid these symptoms

Alcohol use disorder can include periods of alcohol intoxication and symptoms of withdrawal

* Alcohol intoxication results as the amount of alcohol in your bloodstream increases. The higher the blood alcohol concentration is, the more impaired you become. Alcohol intoxication causes behavior problems and mental changes. These may include inappropriate behavior, unstable moods, impaired judgment, slurred speech, impaired attention or memory, and poor concentration. You can also have periods called ” Blackouts”, where you do not remember current events. Very high blood alcohol levels can lead to coma or even death.

* Alcohol withdrawal can occur when alcohol use has been heavy and prolonged, and is then stopped or greatly reduced. It can occur in several hours to four to five days later. signs and symptoms include sweating, a rapid heart beat, hand tremors, problems sleeping, nausea and vomiting, hallucinations, restlessness and agitation, anxiety, and occasionally seizures. Symptoms can be severe enough to impair your ability to function at work or in social situations.

What Is Considered 1 drink? One Drink:

The national institute on alcohol abuse and alcoholism defines one standard drink as any one of these.

1) 12 ounces of regular beer ( about five percent alcohol content)

2) 8-9 ounces of malt liquor ( about 7 percent alcohol content )

3) 5 ounces of unfortified wine ( about 12 percent alcohol content)

4) 1 and a half ounces of hard liquor ( about 40 percent alcohol content)

Prolonged use of these can cause major health problems. The biggest problem being damage to your liver. The liver is the organ that filters out the impurities in our bloodstreams. Once the liver fails, you can end up with jaundice, ( yellowing of the skin and eyes ) Also you can end up with hepatitis. When our liver does not function properly, other organs in our bodies start to fail as well. In other words drinking too much is killing us.

When To See A Doctor:

If, you feel that you sometimes drink too much alcohol, or your drinking is causing problems as mentioned above, or your family is concerned about your drinking, Chad, talk with your doctor. Other ways to get help include talking with a mental health professional or seeking help from a support group such as Alcoholics Anonymous or a similar type of self-help group.

Because denial is so common, you may not feel like you have a problem with drinking. You might not recognize how much you drink or how many problems there are in your life that are related to alcohol use. Listen to relatives Chad, friends or co-workers when they ask you to examine your drinking habits or to seek help. Consider talking with someone who has had a drinking problem, and was able to stop, someone like me. Although, I have not completely stopped.

I am an alcoholic, I still have a drink every once in a while. I now have my alcohol use under control, and am able to enjoy a cocktail or two once in a while. No longer do I start to drink, and not stop. And I never drink and drive a motor vehicle of any type. That includes ATV’S. And motorcycles.

If Your Loved One Needs Help:

Many people with alcohol use disorder hesitate to get treatment due to the fact that they do not recognize that they have a problem. An intervention from loved ones can be of some help. This does not work for everyone, it can actually cause them to drink more. Some people who use an excessive amount of alcohol. Realize that they have a problem, and except the fact, and that they need professional help. If, you are concerned about someone who drinks too much, ask a professional who is experienced in alcohol treatment for some advice on how to approach that person.

* Causes of alcoholism:

Genetics play a big factor. Children who have parents that drink too much are very likely to grow up and have the same problem, psychological, social and environmental factors can impact how drinking alcohol affects your body and behavior. Theories suggest that for certain people drinking, has a different and stronger impact that can lead to these different stages of alcoholism. Over time drinking too much alcohol may change the normal function of the areas of your brain associated with the experience of pleasure, judgment, and the ability to exercise control over your behavior. This may result in cravings for alcohol, in order to restore good feelings, or reduce negative ones.

If, you feel like your loved one needs help with a drinking problem. Do not hesitate to talk to someone who is capable of dealing with this type of situation. Alcoholism can destroy life as well as hurt the people around you. Do something about the problem, before the problem takes care of you.

I Have A Dream, Cocktails For Freedom: In light of Martin Luther King day.

Many years ago, before a lot of us were even born, one man had a dream of equality. A day when people of all color and races could walk down a street hand in hand. Perhaps we can sit down at the table and enjoy a drink or two together, no matter what color our skin is. Anyone who knows me, knows that I am not a man of prejudice. I just do not understand why we still have all this hate in the world. Maybe one day we as a one race will be able accept one another. And be able to put aside all the animosity t words one another. That is my goal in life, even if it just to sit and have a cocktail or two.

To Make; Pour the bottle of ros’e into a glass baking dish. The larger the surface area, the faster the ros’e will freeze. When the ros’e is mostly frozen, begin preparing the berry mixture. Blend one bag of frozen raspberries, one cup of simple syrup, 4 drops of the red food coloring, and the juice of one lemon using a blender until the mixture is smooth.

Add the frozen ros’e to the berry mixture in the blender, and pulse lightly to combine. Pour the mixture back into the baking dish and place back in the freezer for one hour. At this time, prepare the serving glasses while the fros’e solidifies. Open one pack of pop-rocks and pour onto a small plate. Use a lemon slice to wet the edge of each glass, and dip into the pop-rocks. Work quickly as the pop-rocks stick better when the glasses are moist. Open more packets of pop-rocks as needed.

Vertically slice the Granny Smith apple into1/4 inch thick rounds. Using a star shaped cookie cutter, cut apple stars from the slices. Cut a slit from the stars center to one outer point. Use this slit to wedge the Apple star onto the rim of the glass.( To prevent the apple slices from browning, sprinkle a few drops of lemon juice on them immediately after cutting them. )

Remove the ros’e from the freezer and scrape into a pitcher. Stir. Evenly distribute the frozen drink between all the garnished glasses, and enjoy. I have a dream, cocktails for freedom has come to an end. I hope that you give some of these a try with some friends. If you do please stop back and let me know if you liked them. I truly wish for equality on this earth, hopefully before I pass away.
