You Want Beer? You Can’t Handle The Beer:

Today we will be discussing beer, you want beer, I have beer. All types, from the usual s, to the micro brews and everything in between. Thank you for stopping by, and giving this article a read.Beer Goggles

Lots Of Beer:

We all like a nice ice-cold beer at the end of the day, don’t we? I know I sure as heck do. Have you noticed lately that the stores are chock-full of new micro brews now. Sometimes I think you have to be genius just have a beer. And the terminology is enough to give you a headache. And, don’t even get me started on the brands. We could be here all day on that subject.

For now let’s concentrate on a few of the types of beer. Like IPA’s Stouts and Lagers. Do not worry, I have your back. I will touch base on each one of these. But I do not want to get too far off track from craft beers. However, these can all be a form of craft beers. Now, I am going to stop dancing around here, and dive right in to the topic.India Pale Ale

What is an IPA? well the letters stand for India Pale Ale. These beers are usually light. And there are a lot of brands of these beers out there.

People usually have two complaints about IPA’s, and those are, number one, they are too bitter. Number two, they have too much alcohol in them. This is determined by the brewer, IPA’s are still made from hops. The more hops that are used in the brewing process, the more bitter the beer will be. Now, as for the part of too much alcohol, again, determined, by the brewer. Either way you look at it IPA’s are here to stay. All you need to do is find the one that is perfect for you. We all have different taste’s.

Let’s Talk About Stout’s Baby:

Just about everyone of us knows the famous Guinness beer. Just had to throw that out there. Alright then, stout’s are a darker beer. And I have always found them to be on the bitter side, as well as a thicker consistency. Stout’s like Guinness beer have never been one of my favorites.

My first and last experience with Guinness was in a little Irish pub, that was in of all places, Hong Kong. We had been out to sea for a while, and one of our stops for liberty call ( Free time off ship ) Well anyway the bus I was on stopped. So, I got off and walked down a stone path. The path led me to this little Irish bar. I went in and was amazed by the fact, that there were people who looked like me. American people, you have to understand, we were on a tour of the orient. Every place we stopped, there were no American looking individuals. Let’s get back to the beer, I ordered a Guinness pint, took a sip, and immediately knew this beer was not for me. Way too bitter for my taste, I didn’t want to be rude, so I finished it. After, which I ordered a more refreshing type of beer.

These types of beers get their color from roasting the hops for a longer time. This also brings out the bitterness of the beers. However, I am not trying to discourage you from trying stout beers. I am simply giving you my honest opinion about them. Go ahead, try some, maybe you will like stout’s. Like I said earlier, we all have different tastes. Stout Beer

Lager’s And Pilsner’s:

Now I am getting to the last types that I am going to talk about. First one is lager’s, like Sam Adams Boston lager. This is another one that has that bitter notes, but the hops were not roasted as long as with Guinness. Most folks tend to like this beer, but this is another one that I do not like. Now, don’t get me wrong, Sam Adams makes a couple of beers that I enjoy very much. For instance, their summer ale. I find this beer to be lite and refreshing. The same goes for their winter lager, I really enjoy this one.

The last one on my list of you want beer? You can’t handle the beer. Will be pilsner beers, these are the more common beers. Like Budweiser and, Labatt’s Blue. These beers are usually a lite colored beer. Where the hops are’nt roasted for that long of a time, and the alcohol content is on the lower side. Perfect for the end of the day drink, when you need something that is thirst quenching. I have to say, that pilsner beers, would be favorite type to purchase and consume, As a matter of fact, I happen to have some pilsner beers at home, in my refrigerator. Want to come over and have one with me? Then come on let’s get this party started friends.

Try Something New:

Today I have rambled on about a few different types of beer. Perhaps you have already tried some of them. Or, perhaps you have never heard of some of them. No matter where you fall, I believe that every once in a while, we need to step out of our comfort zones, and try something new. Life is way to short to keep doing the same old routines, day in and day out.

Get a little adventurous, try a few different beers. Invite some buddies over and share one or two with them. Live a little, have some fun. Like I said life is too short. Don’t end up like me, I had a heart attack at the age of thirty-seven. And I ended up flat lining, meaning I was clinically dead. Now, I try to live life to the fullest, and try to have as much fun as I possibly can. I implore you to do the same. So kick back and have an ice-cold one with me.

Thank you for stopping by today, and as always, please drink responsibly and please don’t drink and drive. Love always, and God bless.

Sincerely John J, Denekar II

Red Wine A Better Choice For Your Health:

Good day friends, I am happy that you stopped by today. I am going to be discussing red wine a better choice for your health. I hope you find the article helpful as well as informative.

Why Is Red Wine Healthy:

Red wine contains a key ingredient called resveratrol. This particular ingredient is what makes red wine healthy for your heart. Along with antioxidants. When drank in moderation, has been thought to aid in the prevention of coronary artery disease. This condition can lead to a heart attack.heart healthy

Any links between red wine and fewer heart attacks are not yet understood. However, part of the benefit might be that the antioxidants in red wine, may increase the levels of high density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol ( the good cholesterol) and protect against cholesterol build up. Doctors do not recommend that you start drinking alcohol for your heart health. Especially if you have a family history alcohol addiction. Too much alcohol can have many harmful effects on the body.

However, if you already enjoy a glass of red wine with your evening meal, drinking it in moderation seems to be helpful for your heart. If you ask me, another benefit of red wine is, it can help your love life. But that is just my oppinon.

Resveratrol In Red Wine:

Resveratrol might help prevent damage to the blood vessels, and reduce low-density lipoprotien (LDL) cholesterol ( the bad cholesterol) and prevent blood clots. This is a vary good thing, I wish I knew about this years ago. Maybe I would not have had a heart attack back then. Oh well, live and learn, that’s what we always say is it not?

However, studies on resveratrol are mixed. Some research shows that resveratrol can help lower the risk of inflammation and blood clotting. Which can lower the risk for heart disease. But other studies found no actual benefit from resveratrol in preventing heart disease.

More information and research is needed to see if resveratrol can help lower the risk of inflammation and the clotting of the blood.

Resveratrol In Grapes And Other And Other Foods:Red Grapes

The resveratrol in red wine comes from the skin of grapes used to make red wine. Because red wine is fermented with grape skins longer than white wine is, red wine contains more resveratrol.

If you are not into drinking alcohol, eating grapes or drinking grape juice may be a way to get resveratrol in you without drinking alcohol. But if we were’nt drinking alcohol, we would not be here on this site. After all we are here to talk about alcohol, are’nt we?

Peanuts, blueberries and cranberries also contain some resveratrol. It is not yet known how beneficial eating grapes or other foods might compare with drinking red wine when it comes to promoting heart health. The amount of resveratrol in foods and red wine can vary widely. Now if you ask me, I would say, just drink the red wine and enjoy life.

Supplements with resveratrol are also available. Researchers have not found any harm in taking resveratrol supplements, but your body can not absorb most of the resveratrol found in the supplements. So again, just have a glass of red wine.

How Might Alcohol Help The Heart:

There is still no clear evidence that beer, white wine or liquor are not any better than red wine for heart health.circulatory system Various studies have shown that moderate amounts of all types of alcohol benefit your heart health, not just the alcohol found in red wine. It is thought that alcohol:

1: Raises HDL cholesterol ( the good cholesterol )

2: Reduces the formation of blood clots.

3: Helps prevent artery damage caused by LDL cholesterol ( the bad cholesterol)

4: May improves the function of the layer of cells that line the blood vessels.

Drink In Moderation, Or Not All:

The potential heart benefits of red wine and other alcoholic beverages, look promising. People who drink moderate amounts of alcohol, including red wine, seem to have lower risks of heart disease. However, it is important to understand that these studies comparing moderate drinkers, to nondrinkers, might oversee the benefits of moderate drinking because nondrinkers may already have health problems.

More research is needed to be done, before we know the effects of red wine and others drinks like beer, and hard liquor. The American Heart Association as well as the National Heart, Lung, and Blood institute do not recommend that you start drinking alcohol for the sole purpose of preventing heart disease. Alcohol can become addictive and can cause or worsen health problems. Drinking too much alcohol puts you at risk for other issues.

1: Liver and pancreas disease

2: Heart failure, were trying to prevent heart attacks, not cause them.

3 High blood pressure.

4: certain types of cancer.

5: strokes.

6: Accidents, violence and suicide.

7: Weight gain and obesity.

Now i have to say the following for legal sake. Avoid alcohol if you are pregnant, have a personal or strong family history of alcohol abuse. Have a liver or pancreas disease associated with alcohol use. Have heart failure or a weak heart, like I do and just don’t listen. And, or you take certain medications, check with your doctor or pharmacists.

If you already drink red wine a better choice for your health, drink in moderation. This means for most adults, one glass a day. This varies by your age and how much you weigh. For most of us we can handle two glasses of wine a day. Let’s face it if there are two of us sharing a bottle, we are going to finish the entire bottle. You darn well know that the bottle is not going to put in the refrigerator.

As always, please drink responsibly and please do not drink and drive. Remember I do not going to funerals, I am tired of seeing my friends being laid to rest. Then not having them there to share a drink with. And of course always remember that I love you

Sincerely: John J Denekar II Thank you for stopping by today. God bless.

I Can Not Wait Until I Turn 21, The Legal Age Of Drinking:

In today’s article, I am going to tell a story of when I was waiting to turn the legal age for drinking alcohol. Which, at the time was 18 years old. So we will have to take a trip back in time. coor's beer

The Magic Of 1985:

This will be our first stop on our trip back in time. I was 17, a rocking teenage buck. It was the year when I had one more year to go to be able to purchase beer legally. You see back before everyone became so sensitive, the legal drinking age was eighteen years of age. I know hard to believe, is’nt it? But I assure you, I am not lying.

I can still remember sitting on the front porch, talking to my brother. The plans we had, once I was able to buy beer. That’s all we could think about, the parties we would have. And all the beer we could drink. And we did not have to worry about what our parents said. Except for the fact that I would be giving alcohol to a minor. My brother is two years younger than me. But I was not worried about it, All I wanted was to party with my little brother before I left for basic training, for the united states Navy. In the meantime, we did what most, not all teenagers did. We found someone who was older than us, to purchase the beer for us. Fortunately I knew plenty of older guy’s and gal’s who were willing to purchase the beer for us. Well as long as I had the money to pay for the alcohol. Let’s continue this magical mystery tour, with our next stop.

Finally, 1986: party time

That’s right, you guessed it, the grand year. I was turning eighteen, in a few moths. I was finally going to be able to legally purchase alcohol. Well at least that is what I thought. But would’nt you know, the government had other plans. Like always legislature was screwing with the plans of my life. A few months before I was to turn that magical number eighteen, the government of New York state decided to change the legal drinking age to twenty-one.

You can probably imagine how heart broken I was. Here I was getting ready to graduate from high school, and head out into the great big world, and become a United States sailor. The change in the law, meant plans had to change. At least the party plans had to change, or so I thought. Even though, New York state changed the legal drinking age Vermont did not. And Bennington was a short drive from where we lived. However, getting caught coming back to New York state with alcohol in your vehicle, was a severe crime. Not a risk I was wiling to take.

Departing Is Such Sweet Sorrow:

Sorry we are still in 1986, a lot of things happened for me in this year. First there was high school graduation, usually a time to celebrate. Don’t get me wrong, it was a time to celebrate, it was also a time of sorrow for me. In a few short weeks I was leaving home and everyone I love. I am start my life, going in the navy.

Okay we are getting there, a couple of days after graduation, my mother comes to me and says that her and my dad ( step father ) are going to throw a party for me. A combination of graduating and going away party. Little did I know, that they went and bought two whole kegs of beer. Yes you were able to buy whole kegs back then. Now this party lasted two days, right up to the night before I left for basic training. So you can picture the good time we all had.

1987 A Year To Forget:

Yes that is right, I said a year to forget. And I will tell you why, by this time I had made it through basic training. I was given my first duty station, Yokuska Japan. To serve aboard the Uss Midway, first the navy sent me home for ten days of liberty. Standard procedure for a service member being sent overseas far from home. Remember, I am still not old enough to legally drink alcoholic beverages. This, however did not stop my stepfather from handing me a beer. He said if I was old enough to serve and perhaps die for my country, I was old enough to have a beer or two with him.

Time for me to head over to Japan, and start my navy career. Here is where I should mention, that we are still in the year 1986. And I am still eighteen years old, and in a foreign country. You see where I am heading with this now, do you not? I was able to legally drink beer, as well as any other type of alcohol. I did not have to wait to turn 21 to legally drink.Drinking Time You may be asking yourself, why does he want to forget the year 1987. Let me tell you why.

In 1987, I turned 19 years old, I was still in the navy serving overseas. On one of our liberty ports ( time off the ship, free time ) I went up to the flight deck for morning roll call. I was given a job for the day, as I am going to get the tools that I need. My supervising petty officer calls me to office. I go to the office, and I am told to go to the chaplain’s office. Not so great, I thought something had happened to my brother. Once I arrive at the chaplain’s office, he asks me to have a seat. He then tells me he has some bad news. I am sorry son he says, your mother has passed away. We are sending you home to be with your family.

I get home, and the first thing my uncle Lester does is hand me a cold beer. Keep in mind I was only nineteen years old at the time. Back in the United States, where 21 is the legal age to drink alcohol. Lucky for me, I had friends and family who were willing to supply me with alcohol.

Time In A Bottle:

After the funeral, I returned the Uss Midway. There was nothing worth staying home for now. My stepfather convinced me to go back, he said that work was hard to find in our area. That sealed the deal for me, I will go back, and finish out my time. Plus going back overseas meant that I could legally drink. And drink I did, I was always close to my mother. Loosing her, and not being home at the time of her death, killed something in me. For several years after her passing, I crawled into a bottle, and stayed there. I never came out until I got out of the navy, came back home and married my lovely wife.

At least by that time, I was over 21 and legal to drink. which, I hardly did anymore. It is my belief, that getting married saved my life. I want to hear from you, questions or comments, are always welcome.

Please drink responsibly, and do not drink and drive. Love always

Sincerely John J. Denekar II God bless.

Jack Daniel’s A Best Friend Forever:

Beat The Heat:

For our first mixer with our friend Mr. Jack Daniel’s, I have gone out and found a good one, in order to calm down this heat wave that has gripped the world this summer. I am going to start you off with a frozen Jack and coke. A classic but with a new spin on it.

1:11 Oz. of Jack Daniel’s, old number 7.

2:6 Oz. of frozen Coca Cola.

3: 6-8 cherries.

To make;

1: fill 6 Oz of Coca Cola into an ice cube tray ad freeze.

2: Blend ice cubes with Jack Daniel’s old number 7

3: Top with a cherry.

4: this is optional, you can freeze a cherry in inside the ice cubes, to make a frozen cherry Coca Cola. I do not suggest this, particularly if you have someone in your circle that does not like cherries. This cocktail is sure to please, not tease. As well as put a little chill into the day for you. Before I forget Jack Daniel’s and Coca Cola is both register’d trade marks.

Lynch burg Lemonade:

Here is another refreshing way to cool off this summer with our best friend Jack Daniel’s.

1: 11 Oz of Jack Daniel’s old number 7

2: Half an Oz of triple sec.

3: half an Oz of fresh lemon juice.

4: Lemonade. Lynchburg Lemonade

How to make: combine all ingredients in a pitcher, stir until well blended. Pour over ice in a highball glass, and enjoy. If you like lemonade, and you like Jack Daniel’s, you are going to fall in love with this delightful and refreshing cocktail. It’s a taste of summer in the south over ice. You can not go wrong with this one. Sure to become one of your favorites. I know that is one of mine. Do not leave just yet, I still have one more Jack Daniel’s a best friend forever mixer to share with you.

Tennessee Berry Mule:

I saved this one for last. Due to the fact, that this one is a little more complex to prepare. However, I have complete confidence in you. So do not be afraid and give it a try. Won’t you?

1: 11 Oz of Jack Daniel’s old number7.

2: 1 Oz of amaretto.

3: 11 Oz of cranberry juice.

4: 8 Fresh raspberries.

5: Half an Oz lime juice.

6: 1 can of ginger beer.

How to make:

1: muddle the raspberries in the bottom of a shaker.

2: fill half of the shaker with some ice.

3: Add all the ingredients into the shaker, with the exception of the ginger beer, save this for the end. Now shake vigoursly for about 10 seconds.

4: Fill a highball glass ( a tall glass ) with fresh ice cubes.

5: Strain all the liquids in the shaker into the glass.

6: Now is the time to bring the ginger beer into play, top off the glass with the ginger beer, and stir lightly. You do not want the beer to fizz up and spill all over the place.

7: float 3 of the raspberries on top of the drink to garnish, this is just for looks, eye appeal. I mean geese would you just look at it. I can not wait to make this lovely cocktail for myself. Raspberry Mule

Gin And Tonic The Breakfast Of Champions:

In today s topic, gin and tonic the breakfast of champions, I am going to tell a little story of how this cocktail came to be a breakfast drink for me. so please bear with me, all will be explained.

The Early Days:

I call this the early days for the fact that I was young pup serving our great nation in the United States Navy. I was stationed on the USS BELLEAU WOOD LHA 3. I believe that it was around 1989 at the time, if my memory serves me right. This is not the actual ship, but it gives you an idea of what an aircraft carrier is. The picture below resembles another ship I was on first. The USS MIDWAY. That is whole other story in its self, but I will save that for another time. For now, I will continue with our topic of today.

We were just pulling into Subic Bay, of the Philippine islands after being out to sea for a couple of months. So a few of the guys that I was friends with, decided that once liberty call was announced, we would go off ship for breakfast. We got a taxi cab, and went to the base enlisted personnel’s club. I had no idea of their breakfast in mind, and here I thought we going for some eggs and bacon. Boy was I wrong, I knew that I was in for one heck of a day when we bellied up to the bar. Still, I figured we were going to order food from the bar, but to my surprise, when they both asked the bartender for a gin and tonic. I heard some strange things, my first two years in the navy. But alcohol for breakfast, it was a good thing that my mother was  not alive. I had never even considered having a cocktail for breakfast, but I went along with them and ordered the exact same thing as they did.

What Is A Gin And Tonic:

Gin and tonic is a very simple drink. All you need is some good gin, and some tonic water ( carbonated water, sparkling water) and maybe some lime juice. Pour all ingredients into a mid sized glass over ice. And there you have it, a gin and tonic, the breakfast of champions.

Now we sat there at the enlisted club for several hours, just drinking and listening to country music. I suppose we were trying to get a little drunk before going out into the village of Subic bay.

The Village Of Subic Bay:

Oh the village of Subic bay, the stories that could be told about this place. We would be here all night and then some. I think in the four years that I was in the navy, I believe that I went to Subic Bay at least 13 times. To this day, I still can not figure out why we started drinking at the club on base. All the clubs in town served alcohol. And for a real inexpensive price. If I remember correctly, a bottle of San maguil beer was only .050 cents. Yes I said that right. A beer for fifty cents, I would not lie about this.

After all we were in the land of sin and fun. The only problem for me was trying not to run into my wife to be. As long as I avoided the far end of the street, everything would be just fine, That way I was able to continue to hang out with the guys, and party some more. So as long as I did not go anywhere near the club she worked in, I could party all night long. But eventually some time during the afternoon, me and the guys separated and went our own ways. So I sobered up a little, and headed to the end of the street. Besides, there only so many dancing girls that one man can handle in a day.

The End Of The Street:

By now I had enough of gin and tonic the breakfast of champions. All that I wanted to do, was go find the little woman who I was going to marry. However, I did not marry her. I told her that I had a child back home with another woman, and I had to do the right thing, and marry the woman I now call my wife. And have called her my wife for the past thirty years, come this September.

Once I told( Edna ) the Philippine girl this, she looked at me and said okay, now lets go home. By this time I had enough alcohol in me to put an elephant to sleep. So of course I went back to our apartment with her. After all I was paying fifty dollars a month for us live there. I know sounds like I’m lying, I can assure you, that is all I was paying to live there. This even included all the electricity, and running water indoors. We did have a shower outside. You know the enclosed ones with the vines climbing all over them. The picture of paradise.

The End:

Well friends we are at the end of another one of life stories. Okay you can laugh all you want, I don’t mind, because you are laughing with me. I sincerely hope that you found this article just a little entertaining. I honestly try not to bore the hell out of you. If you ever have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask me. I love questions. Now before I leave you, I want to remind you to always be careful. Please drink responsibly and never drink and drive. If I have said it once, I have said it a thousand times. I am so tied of going to funerals. The life that you save could be your own. Not only that, taking the life of someone else. Is something that you can never come back from.

Remember to drink responsibly and never drink and drive, the life you save may very well be your own.

Love always John D.  Have a blessed day my friends.

Thank you for stopping by today, I look forward to hearing from you soon. And remember please drink responsibly and do not drink and drive. I am so sick and tired of going to funerals. If I never have to go to another, that would be absolutely fine with me. Plus the life you save just may very well be your own life. Enjoy the parties that we attend, just make sure that when you leave those parties, that you are sober enough to drive safely. Know that I am working hard for you. It does me no good if you go out and drink. Thenget behind the wheel of a car and kill yourself or someone else. I think this pandemic has taken enough lives, don’t you? So do me a huge favor won’t you? Stay home and make these easy tequila drinks. Have a great night friends.

Please remember to drink responsibly and never drink and drive, the life you save may very well be your own.

Love always John D.  Have a blessed day friends.

use of alcohol with diabetes:

Today I would like to talk about the use of alcohol with diabetes, as well as the effects it has on the body. Please keep in mind that I am not a doctor, nor do I play one on TV.

WHAT IS DIBETES:finger stick

Diabetes is a disease, where the body can no longer produce insulin, or produce enough insulin. This causes the body to not be able to process sugar the way it is meant to do. There is two types of diabetes.

First, there is type one diabetes. Type one is where you develop diabetes at an early stage in life. Sometimes we are born with it. This is a lifetime journey with the disease.

Second is type two, this is when we develop the disease later in life. Usually as a result of our diet and the lack of exercise. Go figure we work all day, go home and have a nice relaxing drink, and our reward for this, is a nasty little disease called diabetes. Yes I said nasty, because of what this disease does to the body, in which it causes havoc on all the organs. And we have to constantly check and regulate the blood sugar levels. We will get into the effects later in this post. Next you probably want to know if you can use alcohol with diabetes. So I am going to answer this question for you, sit back grab a drink and relax while I answer you.Heavy Beers

Use of alcohol with diabetes:

Can we use alcohol with diabetes, this is the big question for today, drum roll please, yes we can use alcohol with diabetes. We just have to be cautious, and use some restraint. What do I mean by restraint? Simple do not sit there and drink a twelve pack, have two or three.

Plus there are some changes that we can make that will allow us to enjoy the use of alcohol with diabetes. Let us touch base on two of those changes now. The first change we can make is switch to a light beer. Stop laughing, in today s market there are a lot of flavorful light beers available for purchase. The biggest thing we have to look out for is total net carbohydrates. Guess what, carbohydrates are in all the stuff we love to eat. You know, like bread products, rice, and also those nice sweet white wines that everyone loves to sip on at the end of a long day. However, there is good news. Like I said switching to light beer is a step in the right direction. For me, I have started drinking Michelob ultra. I find it to be a full-bodied beer, that is very refreshing. I am more than likely going to have one after I am done writing this article.

Red, Red Wine:

Red wine with friendsFor those of us that enjoy a nice glass of wine with friends, at the end of a long day. Switching to a red wine verses a white wine is a better use of alcohol with diabetes. Me personally, I have always liked red wine over white wine. I have always felt that white wine is too dry for my taste. Plus red wine has more benefits for your health than white wine does. What benefits do you say?

First off red wine is rich in antioxidants, this is real good for the blood stream. It helps enrich the blood with oxygen. Red wine is also good for the cardiovascular health. Meaning that is good for the heart. And the best benefit of red wine is that it has fewer of those nasty little carbohydrates. Red wine also helps the blood vessels get oxygen rich blood throughout our bodies. Keeping the veins open can lower blood pressure, as well as help reduce the risk of having a heart attack. Trust me you do not want that. Take it from someone who has been there and done that. Alright it is getting close to quitting time. And I promised to talk about the effects of the use of alcohol with diabetes.

Affects diabetes has on the body:

Live HeartHaving diabetes has several effects on our bodies. I compiled a list for you, as of my knowledge. Remember I am not a doctor   nor do I play one on TV.

1: diabetes causes issues with the eys, loss of site is possible if we are not careful with our sugar levels.

2: CAD ( coronary artery disease) Too much sugar in the blood stream causes clotting, and can lead to a heart attack.

3: abnormal sugar can cause problems with our livers, like we need that when we’e already causing that problem from drinking alcohol.

4: Kidney disease, Diabetes is known to shut down the kidneys. Then we have to go on dialysis. Nobody wants to go to a hospital a couple of days a week, and be hooked to a machine to filter out our kidneys.

5: Loss of limb, ( a leg, arm, or toes) usually it starts with the doctors removing one or more of your toes.

I’m sure that there are a whole slews of other problems that diabetes can cause. But this is not a medical site, after all this is a place for alcohol. I just wanted to inform you that we can use alcohol with diabetes. We just need to make a few our drinking habits

Don’t Worry Be Happy:

I don’t want you to worry about the use of alcohol with diabetes. If we do nothing but worry, we will never live. Life is more fun when we sit back and enjoy a cocktail or two now and then. Please remember every thing in this site are the views of the owner of the site. That is me. All that I want for you, my readers is to have some fun, and enjoy life as much you possibly can. Before I leave you I want to add, that if you have diabetes, and you decide to have a cocktail or two, you should consider eating something before or during your drinking. This will aid in low blood sugar, that can send you to the hospital.

As always please be safe out there, don’t drink and drive. Drink responsibly.

Love always: John D. And god bless.

Bourbon Drink Recipes:

Good day everyone, I sincerely hope that you all are having a spirited day. I am really glad that you stopped by today. I am going to be talking about my favorite Bourbon drink recipes. As well as my absolute favorite Bourbon to drink. So please stick around, and have a drink with me.

My hands down favorite Bourbon to drink, well that’s a no brainer, Jim Beam. Now don’t get me wrong, there are a lot of other bourbons on the market today. However when it comes to bourbon recipes, Jim Beam is the only one that I prefer to use. Now I am a simple man, and I keep my mixes simple. With that being said, my go to drink with Bourbon is a easy recipe. So to start with, you need a sixteen to eighteen oz. glass, fill halfway up with ice, pour Jim Beam over the ice, and then fill the cup the rest of the way with 7up or some other kind of lemon lime soda. I usually just buy a 2ltr. bottle of Sam’s choice lemon lime soda for 60 cents.

I know that is a simple drink, and most of you may be looking for something a bit more sophisticated. Well don’t worry, I have you folks covered as well. This was a first for me to just say how simple of a man I am. However if you stay a little while longer, I promise, you won’t be disappointed. In the next section of our chat, I have found a few Bourbon drink recipes, that I believe you will really enjoy.

Kentucky Sunrise:

This is a Bourbon drink recipe that is sure to brighten the morning. You will need a few items. Ingredients: half an oz. Of grenadine, 1oz of Jim Beam Bourbon, 3 oz’s of orange juice, orange slices, and some stem cherries . Prepare in a tall highball glass. Don’t worry, if you do not have one, any tall glass that you have will suffice just fine. Float the grenadine, and garnish with the orange slice, or the cherry. If you feel adventurous, you can garnish with both the orange slice, or the cherry.

In my opinion this is the perfect cocktail to serve at a brunch. Especially if you are trying to impress your friends. I should remind you that this along with all the cocktails in this post, should be built over ice. Let’s be real, nobody likes warm drinks, especially in the summer. Particularly with the heat we are having around the globe this summer. So promise me you will chill your creations. Believe me, you do not want to hand your father in law a warm cocktail. If you like this one let me know. But before we go, I just happen to have two more Bourbon drink recipes for you to enjoy so please, keep reading.

Remember I mentioned above, to build these cocktails over ice, let’s get right into what you will need. Ingredients: 2oz’s of Jim Beam Bourbon, 1oz. of lemon juice half an oz. of lemon lime soda, half a teaspoon of sugar, lemon wedge and a cherry. To make, mix Bourbon, lemon juice, sugar, and ice in a shaker. Shake vigorously, and strain into a whiskey sour glass, again, if you do not have a sour glass a short glass of any kind you have lying around will do just as good. All that is left to do now, is garnish with a lemon  wedge and a cherry.Oh, this one sounds so mouth watering good. My taste buds are on fire for this one. A perfect cocktail for that afternoon meeting, or on that long layover. As always let me know how this one is for you.

Don’t you dare take off just yet, we’re just getting comfortable. After all isn’t that what Bourbon drinks are all about. Sitting back with good friends and catching up on all the things we missed with each other. Whether it has been a day or two, or year or two. No matter what the occasion, a good Bourbon drink is always in order. And besides, did you think that I was going to leave without giving one more fabulous bourbon drink recipe? Well no, I have one more for you, trust me this one is perfect on a hot evening after work, or hell any darn time you want to cool off, or get warmed up. Or whenever you feel like a cocktail.

Did I lie ? A sweet tea, not just for the south. Perfect for a warm day, or any other time. This one is probably going to become a favorite one of yours. Alright I’ll stop rambling and get down to business. Ingredients: 1oz. of Dekuyper ( Peachtree) Schnapps liqueur, 2 oz’s of bourbon, then 3oz’s of sweet tea, you can probably get away with using powdered tea mix and no one would be the wiser. And last but not least, a lemon wedge. To prepare, build over ice in a tall glass. Garnish with a lemon wedge. Boy oh boy, this sounds really refreshing. Keep in mind, you do not have to use powdered tea mix. You can always brew your own tea, and add as much or as little sugar. You won’t need a whole lot of sugar though. Bourbon is not that harsh. I think that this is the one alcohol that gets overlooked way too much. And we need to bring this back up to the front of our liquor cabinets.

Well there you have it:

I hope that you enjoy these bourbon drink recipes. I will continue to keep my eyes open for exciting ideas for us to try out. As always if you happen to try these out, please by all means, come back and let me know how it went. It is my greatest pleasure to provide all of you with quality content. Hopefully you find this site informative, and helpful.

Thank you for stopping by. Please drink responsibly, and never drive while intoxicated, or under the influence. God bless. And be safe. Love John D

Rum for cocktails Simple Easy To Make Recipes

Rum for cocktails:rum over rocks

I know, this sounds simple, rum for cocktails. We all know the more famous rum and coke. And that’s fine sometimes, when we just want to keep things simple. When you use soda to mix your rum, you don’t have a need for a simple syrup. Which is just a mixture of sugar and water. That’s all soda is, sugar and carbonated water with flavoring. If you are like me, you probably started out with rum and coke. Let’s face it, coke hides the look of the rum, so nobody thinks that you have an alcoholic beverage. For me, coke is only good with a white rum, like Bacardi. Maybe you like it with a spiced rum, and that is perfectly fine. It is my opinion, that keeping the cocktail simple is the best way to drink it. I have never been one for designer drinks.

Now if you really want to keep it simple, let me make two suggestions. Number one, keep it neat. This just means to drink it straight, not mixed with anything. The second way that I have to keep it simple, is to have it over the rocks. This just a fancy way to say you have it over ice. I don’t know about you, but I prefer all of my rum cocktails to be served chilled. Unless of course you just want to do a shot. Then I’m always ready for that, especially if you are the one who is buying. Alright, we have got the simple way of having our rum cocktail. Now perhaps we should explore some fancy ways to enjoy our rum cocktail. So on to our first way to enjoy, and perhaps impress our friends and family.

BLACK BERRY MOJITO’S:black berries

First you are going to need the following ingredients, 1.5 oz. Of a clear rum, 8 black berries, 1oz of simple syrup ( sugar and water in equal parts boiled ) Then left to cool. 8 mint leaves, and one cup of ice. Like I said earlier, a cold livation is better than a warm one. Now that we have our ingredients for this rum cocktail, we need to assemble it.

So combine the mint, berries, lime wedges, rum, and your simple syrup in a glass of your choosing.( Muddle) in other words, crush or smash the ingredients. This is done to extract the juices from the mint leaves and the berries. Once you have completed this step, the final step is to pour the ice into the glass, and top off with your simple syrup. If you want to make it look pretty to impress everyone, garnish with more of the berries, mint leaves, or lime wedges. Keep in mind, this makes one cocktail. Just double the recipe for two and so forth on.

blueberry colypso

Since I am on the subject of how to enjoy some rum cocktails, I’ll give you one that I just tried myself while taking a short break. All you need is a shot of your favorite rum, I used a white rum, that’s what was in the liquor cabinet. Then you will need a bottle of calypso ocean blue lemonade. Add some ice to a tall glass, pour a shot glass of the rum over the ice. Get your sixteen oz. Of ocean blue calypso, and pour into the glass. Sit back and enjoy. I don’t have a name for this one yet, but give me a day or two, and I should be able to come up with something for you.

That’s one thing that I love to do, take an ordinary drink from the fridge, and add some kind of alcohol to it. You never know how it will come out. Sometimes you hit it out of the park, and sometimes you just fall flat. And of course if you have too much to drink, you can end up falling flat on your face. And this is never a good thing to have happen. Especially at my age. Falling down these days is always going to hurt. And I just don’t want to spend a night in my local hospital’s emergency room. For one, I can not afford the bill. For two, people check in, but they do not check out. A little hotel California for you there. You older readers will know what I am talking about, and if you don’t, you are probably too young to be here.

Experimenting with our rum cocktails, gives us some freedom. Not to mention a little bit of adventure. So don’t be shy, or afraid to try something out of the ordinary. Go, get up, look in your refrigerator. See what you have stashed in there. Do not be afraid to try something different. You never know what you can end up with.

Maybe you have a pitcher of iced tea hanging out in the back of the refrigerator. I believe that rum is the main alcohol in a long Island iced tea. And who doesn’t like a good spiked ice tea.? All I am saying is that it does not hurt to be a little adventurous from time to time. You just have to keep in mind, that when you are trying different concoctions,  will you need to make a simple syrup, or is what I’m going to add my rum sweet enough. Unless of course you are into sour drinks. Every cocktail that we make needs the right ratio of sweetness, or no one will want to have another one. I do not want you to be the laughingstock of your friends or family. Also in my opinion, every dinner party needs a good cocktail. Well I am just about done with this little story. I hope that you found something a little useful here today. And I pray that I have not bored you to hell and back. Being a God-fearing man that I am, I would never wish for you to go to hell. If you would like to try any of these cocktails, and need some rum, please ->->->CLICK HERE<-<-<-

I just want to thank you for stopping by and saying hello today. I’m going to end this post of rum for cocktails. I only have one last thing to say to you. Please always drink responsibly, and please never drink and drive. I am tired of going to friends funerals.

Thank you and God bless friends. John D.

Ps. I hope that you all enjoy these recipes that I have found for you. Please have a look at some more of my articles to find more recipes to enjoy. Plus keep an eye open for the sales that tend to happen on the weekends.

It is my hope that you find the content  interesting, and that you feel abliged to let your friends, and family know that you found the content of this site to be helpful for you.

Hi thank you for stopping by today, my name is John Denekar, yes this is my real name. You may wonder why I decided to  start a site about alcohol.  Well let’s take a short trip back to 1970, that is when I was three years old. We we’re living in Rochester  New York. My father was in the United States navy. One day him and my mother had a backyard barbecue,  my father had some friends from his ship over for this gathering.

So since I was three years old  at the time my parents placed me in a play pen to keep me from running off. The play pen was placed over by father and the grill. Now we can get  to the fun part of my story. My father’s chief petty officer  was helping with the grill. There was a small table by the grill, my father’s chief would set his beer down on this table while he tended to the food. Now guess who’s play pen was next to the table. Yup, that’s right,  it was me in my play pen.

I’m pretty sure you can guess what happens in this story now. However I think that I will paint the picture for you.  So every time the chief would put his beer down, I would reach up, grab the beer, drink it and place the empty bottle back on the table. Now the chief couldn’t figure out what happened to his beer, so he would go grab another cold one from  the cooler, then come back to grill, and set his beer on the table. I would again pick up the beer, drink it, and place the empty bottle back on the table. This happened three times in total. My father and his chief finally figured out what was going on with his beers. But not until I was found fast asleep, curled up in the corner of my play pen with a empty beer bottle in my hand.

Now let’s fast forward to the 80’s.  When I  was a teenager,  pretty much when all of us were trying just about everything under the sun. So of course I found ways to get a hold of some beer for a party in the woods, or perhaps something stronger to drink. Like teenagers do. Then my high school graduation when my mother got two full kegs. Shortly after, I left home to attend bootcamp for the US navy, following in my father’s footsteps.  Since I was not of legal age to drink, I had to go without. Atleast until my first duty station. I was sent to Japan to serve on the USS Midway. Now in Japan, you can drink alcohol no matter what age you are. I was still stationed there when I got the call that my mother had passed away.  I  came home for the funeral, not being of legal drinking age. Fortunately for me, I had friends who were of legal age. Plus having a military ID helped me to purchase beer. Returning to Japan allowed me to live inside the bottle. I had a rough time after loosing my mother, I actually lost myself for a long time. Even when I  transferred to my second duty station in California, I found ways to get alcohol until I turned 21.

After I finished my military service, I  came back home to New York state, I married the love of my life and we have five children together. Now at the age of 53 I still drink, but I do it occasionally and responsibly.  So alcohol has been a part of my life ,my whole life. I guess you can say that I’m a alcoholic.  I never went to alcoholics anonymous or any other support group. I had my wife, and kids to keep from going over the edge. I just figured out, you can still have a drink without going overboard.

My whole purpose for this website is to show that you can still have a cocktail or two, and still keep it in control. My drinking pretty much ruined my career in the United States navy. I don’t want you to loose whatever is important in your life.

You can still enjoy a drink or two and not be a jackass to the people that you love. Whether they are a family member or a close friend. Believe me the abuse of alcohol can take away everything that you hold dear to your heart, including yourself.

My number one goal for this site, is to discuss different types of alcoholic beverages.  Im not talking about your common rum and coke, or jack Daniel’s and coke. However those two beverages won’t be excluded.

All types of alcohol will be welcome here, after all, we are all adults here. We each have our own opinions and we know what we like. My main goal here is going to be drink recipes that can be made at home,  That can be shared with our family and friends.  But allows us to drink responsibly.

If you ever need a hand or have ay questions, feel free to leave them below and I will be more than happy to help you out.

‘ Hi Impact ‘

All the best,

John J. Denekar II Have a blessed day my friends.
