Gear Up For St. Patricks Day, What To Drink:

As you all know, the end of February is here, that can mean only one thing. March is next in line, with the month of March comes that one holiday that we all just can’t wait for. The day when everybody gets to be Irish, St. Patricks day. So, I ask you, do you plan celebrating St. Patricks day this year? If so, how do you plan on doing so? are you going to stay home and cook corned beef, and cabbage, and potatoes? Perhaps you are planning on hitting the bars this year, I propose that we take extra precautions and stay home to drink this year. And, why would’nt you when you can get everything you need to get the luck of the Irish in you delivered right to your door? Why not try some of these great recipes that I have for you in today’s article?

Pickleback Shots:Pickle brine drink:

Here is something fairly new to the market of shots. I say new even though it has been around since 2006. Created by Reggie Cunningham, a bartender at the Bushwick country club in Brooklyn New York. When a customer requested a drink of pickle brine, Reggie suggested a shot of whiskey first, then followed by the shot of pickle brine. This unusual combination has since become a favorite in bars across the nation. Is this something that you would give a try?

1) 1 1/2 ounces of Irish Whiskey

2) 1 1/2 ounces of pickle brine juice

To Make; Pour a shot of Irish whiskey, and a chilled shot of pickle brine juice. ( The original was made with McClures spicy pickle brine ) Take the shot of Irish whiskey first, then chase it down with the pickle brine. And, there you have a pickleback shot. A few of these, and you have the luck of the Irish in you for sure.

Spirits Used:

Bushmills Red Bush Irish Whiskey

Shamrock Shake Smash:

An adult version of an ice cream float, made with that favorite shake that we wait all year for. The McDonalds Shamrock Shake. Paired with, a stout beer made by Guinness. This just may be your pot of gold, no rainbow required. Although, you may see a rainbow after a few of these drinks.

1) 1 Bottle or can of Guinness Beer

2) 2-3 scoops of McDonalds Shamrock shake

To Make; You can make your own Shamrock Shake if you are feeling crafty, all you need is some vanilla ice cream, a little bit of milk, whole or 2 percent will work just fine for this recipe, you will also need some mint extract, and 4-6 drops of green food coloring. May as well get some use out of it after coloring some Easter eggs with the kids. Make them a milkshake as well, just don’t give them the beer with their shake.

If you are using the McDonalds Shamrock Shake, Place in the freezer to harden up for about 30 minutes. In a pint glass, or a mason jar, my favorite way of making this, pour in the Guinness Beer about 3/4 the way to the top of the glass, this is to prevent the ice cream from making a big mess. Take your Shamrock Shake out of the freezer, and use an ice cream scoop, or a large spoon to scoop two scoops into your beer. And enjoy. Remember to leave the beer out for the children.

Spirits Used:

Guinness Draught Adult Shake:

Dublin Drop:

No longer politically correct to call this one an Irish car bomb, a reference to a dark past of Ireland s rich history, this bomber style shot is still very popular state-side, especially on St. Patricks day. It is recommended that you drink this cocktail quickly, before your left with a curdled glass of beer, whiskey and Irish Cream.

1) 1/2 an ounce of Irish Cream Liqueur

2) 1/2 an ounce of Jameson Irish Whiskey

3) 1 can or bottle of Guinness Beer

To Make; Add Irish Cream Liqueur, and Jameson Irish Whiskey to a shot glass, layering the Irish Cream on the bottom. Pour Guinness into a pint glass 3/4 the way up, and let it settle. Drop the shot glass into the Guinness and drink quickly. Don’t be too aggressive with the tilt, you don’t want the shot glass hitting your teeth.

Spirits Used:

Jameson Irish Whiskey

Baileys Irish Cream Original

Guinness Drought

The New Irish Breakfast:

This unusual cocktail will remind you of fresh baked banana bread. And is great on the rocks ( over ice ) or as an unexpected addition to any classic whiskey cocktail. We have decided to keep thing simple, by adding a few ounces of fresh squeezed orange juice. Hence, the reason why I call this a breakfast cocktail. Perfect for a Saturday or Sunday brunch, as well.

1) 2 ounces of banana- infused Jameson Irish Whiskey

2) 1-2 ounces of fresh squeezed orange juice

To Make; Combine the Irish whiskey with the orange juice in a cocktail shaker with some ice, shake until the liquid is good and cold. Strain over a large format ice cube in an old- fashioned glass. Garnish with a pinch of black sugar sprinkles.

To infuse the whiskey with banana flavor- slice two ripe bananas and put into a clean jar, with an airtight lid. Pour half of a 750ml. Bottle of Jameson Irish Whiskey into the jar and close tightly. Let it sit on the counter in a dark spot and turn gently once a day. After 4-5 days, strain the banana slices out, using a fine mesh strainer and pour the whiskey through a coffee filter back into the jar. Refrigerate for up to one month.

Spirits Used:

Jameson Irish Whiskey

Orange Juice

Morning Wake Up Call

Irish Flag Shot:

Everything you want in a festive drink. This one just may leave you wanting more. It may look difficult to make at home, when in fact it is quite easy to pull off.

1) 1 ounce of Green Creme de Menth

2) 1 ounce of Baileys Irish Cream Original

3) 1 ounce of Orange Liqueur

To Make; Pour the Creme de Menth into a shot glass. Slowly float the Baileys Irish Cream over the Creme de Menth by pouring it over the back of a bar spoon. Using the bar spoon again, float the orange liqueur over the Baileys Irish Cream. A perfect salute to all of those Irish heroes.

Spirits Used:

Baileys Irish Cream Original

Grand Imperial Orange Liqueur

DeKuyper Creme de Menth Green Liqueur

Jameson Whisket Sour:

This is an old classic, you can’t go wrong with. One that knocks it out of the park every time it is served. Try it at home for yourself, and see if I’m steering you wrong.

1) 60 ml. of Jameson Irish Whiskey

2) 4 dashes of freshly squeezed lime juice

3) 1 bar spoon of granulated sugar

4) 1 splash of sparkling water

To Make; Dissolve the sugar with lemon juice and sparkling water in a mixing glass. Add whiskey and fill with ice, stir well. Strain into a rocks glass, and garnish with a cherry.

Spirits Used:

Jameson Irish Whiskey

Classic Cocktails Made With Moonshine: Hand crafted, just for you.

In today’s article, I am giving you some classic cocktails that are made with moonshine. You can not get these fine hand crafted spirits at your local liquor store. The only place that you will be able to get your hands on any of these hand crafted spirits, will be here for as long as this article is still up. Also, keep in mind that the company that distributes these fine hand crafted spirits, does not ship to every state.

The only states that they ship too, are, Illinois, North Dakota, Nebraska, and New Hampshire. I know, it’s a big bummer, hopefully in the near future they will expand the states that they will ship to. Otherwise, they are missing out on a lot of good revenue. I try all the time to get them to expand their shipping territory, but, I get no response. I often use this company because I love the spirits that they are able to get their hands on.

Why Celebrate:Good days Aheasd:

You ask me why should we celebrate this day? I’ll tell you why, this past year has been a struggle for a lot of people. Not just financially, but emotionally as well. Things are starting to make a turn around now.

Even though the infection rate is starting to drop in numbers, this is no time to let our guards down. We should still wear a mask when out in public. And there is still some restrictions on how long the bars and resteraunts can stay open. If you ask me the best thing that we as a country can do, is to stay home and do our celebrations with close family members and friends, keeping the group size down to a few people.

I still say that we should celebrate national wine day at home this year. There is still plenty of reasons to have a celebration. You survived the year 2020 did you not? Plus with the winter weather that we are having across the country, we need a way to keep warm. For me, the best way to keep warm is with a nice bottle of wine, or some other alcoholic beverage. How do you like to keep warm when it is cold outside?

Think Spring:Think Spring Time:

I know what your saying, how can I think spring with all of this crazy weather that is happening across the globe? We are in the third week of February now, so spring is right around the corner. Just another two weeks of winter left for this year.

The calendar has the first day of spring set for March 2nd. And, soon after that I believe that we spring the clocks ahead as well. Check your calendars, it seems like everything is early this year, like Easter and the days before it, like, ash Wednesday, and good Friday. I think the people that make the calender, are trying rush this year.

Maybe, they think that it will help to push this pandemic out of the way. Either way, I am looking forward to spring, and sitting on a shore line with a fishing pole, and an ice-cold beer. Hopefully one or two of my sons will find some time to join me on the shore this year. That will be a great day to mark on the calendar. I know that finding time to enjoy the simple things in life can be trying at time. Hopefully we make this one thing happen this year. Do you have any special plans for this year? Or are you just playing it by ear, and waiting to see what happens? I have already made plans for the wife’s birthday this year. Since last year this pandemic hit right around her birthday, a weekend in Lake George with her sister and her husband as well. Her idea, not mine, Happy wife, happy life. There is a winery close by that area, so maybe we can visit that while we are there. We will have to see next month, if they are open for tours. Keep your fingers crossed for me, won’t you?

Before I forget, I promised to tell you my favorite wine. So here it is, this may surprise you a little, it isn’t a fancy wine by any means. This is one for everyone to enjoy Woodbridge Merlot I hope you give this one a try, not bad for it’s low price.

Looking Ahead:

Maybe, you think that I am crazy for making plans ahead of time. You would be right, I am crazy. Otherwise, why would I have started an online business in the middle of a worldwide pandemic? The short answer to this question is, I simply wanted to bring a home delivery service of alcohol to you good people. Keeping all of you safe from this nasty virus. And, yes, I make a small commission from any purchase that you make from any of the links on this site.

Remember to drink responsibly, and never drink and drive. The life you save may very well be your own. Sincerely: Your friend John D. Have a blessed day friends.

It’s The End Of The World As We Know It: Let’s drink.

As you all know, we have a new leader of the free world, well a free world for now. That may not be the case if the democrats get their way. It seems to me, that they want to do away with the republican party, maybe it’s just me, what do you think about the way the democrat party is going? This is not something that just sprung up out of no where, the democrats have been trying to infringe on our rights for a good many years. The sad part is that the majority of the American people have been blind to this for a long time. I say that it is time for us as Americans to take a stand against them. However, this past election just shows you how oblivious we all are to what it is happening in this country. Now, with our new leader, it’s the end of the world as we know it. let’s drink.

Usually I give you a couple of cocktail recipes in my article, today I thought that I would just keep things simple, and give you a few classic drinks that we all know and love. If you have never had them, then please give them a try tonight. Before I forget, you can get all the alcohol you need with a $10.00 discount . Just use code LUV at checkout.

Bourbon And Seven:Jim Beam & 7-UP:

For those of you who have been here before, you know that Jim Beam holds a special place in my heart. What you may not know though, is my favorite way to drink it is. So, let me share this with you today. I hope that this becomes one of your favorite ways to enjoy a glass of Jim Beam.

First you will need a highball glass ( Tall Glass ) fill the glass with some ice. Add about 2 ounces of Jim Beam Kentucky Sraight Bourbon Whiskey. Top off the glass with chilled 7-UP, then gently stir to combine the ingredients together. Sit back and enjoy.

The pure beauty of this cocktail is that there are only three ingredients Jim Beam, 7-UP, and ice cubes. Can you tell what the theme of today’s article is going to be now?

Spirits used:

Jim Beam

Jack And Coke:Jack And Coke:

This is probably the most iconic cocktail in the world, you go anywhere in the world and ask the barkeep for one of these, and chances are that they know exactly what you are asking for. Take it from me, I have been all around the world, and have been able to order a Jack and Coke no matter where I was at.

Add ice cubes to a highball glass ( Tall Glass ) then pour an ounce or two of Jack Daniels over the ice. Top off with the glass with Coca Cola, and gently stir to combine the ingredients together. Sit back and enjoy the rest of the evening with this three ingredient cocktail.

Spirit’s used

Jack Daniels

This classic cocktail is even easier to make then the two above, it only needs two ingredients to make. Just about everyone has had a screwdriver at time or another during their adult life. And if you haven’t, well then you have been living a very sheltered life. Have you had a screwdriver yet? If not, then this will be a simple cocktail for you to make. So, let’s’s get right to it shall we?

In a glass of your choosing, add an ounce or two of Vodka to the bottom of the glass. Then all that you need to do is top off the glass with some ice-cold Orange Juice. Use a long, or a bar spoon to stir the two ingredients together. And enjoy this classic cocktail after a long day of whatever you were doing. Now, I have to warn you about this drink, the sweetness of the orange juice can trick you into thinking that you are only drinking orange juice. You may forget that you added Vodka to it, and end up drinking more then you ha intended on. Before you know it, you are completely stoned out of your mind, and can longer walk a straight line. So please be careful with this one, it has come back to bite me in the backside a couple of times in my life.

Spirit’s’s Used:

Absolute Vodka

A little side note for you before we move on to the next drink, all of these links are made to open in a new tab. This means that if you click on the link, you will not lose your place here on this page. You will be able to come right back where you left off. Also, I want you to know that I make a small commission on any purchase that you make. Alright, let’s get to our fourth and final classic cocktail for today, shall we?

Gin And Tonic:Breakfast Of Champions:

This one is another favorite of mine, it reminds of a time of friendship and brotherhood. But, that is another story that you can read in an earlier article. That is why I refer to gin and tonic as a breakfast drink. Now, don’t get me wrong here, this classic cocktail can be enjoyed at any time of the day or night. You can have one of them on your daily lunch break. But, don’t tell your boss that I said you could do that, I will deny everything.

In a highball glass ( Tall Glass ) add some ice about half the way up. Pour about an ounce or two of Gin over the ice. Then top off the glass with tonic water, carbonated water. If you would like this drink to be a little bit more sweet, you can add a simple syrup to the cocktail. All that is equal parts of water and sugar brought to a boil, then left to cool.

You can add some lemon or lime wheels for a garnish if you would like to, but it is not necessary to garnish. Garnishing is for fancy people who like to say hey, look at me, I’m fancy. And I know that’s none of you, am I right?

Spirit’s Used:

Tanqueray London Dry Gin

Have A Blessed Weekend:

I hope that you enjoy these cocktails this weekend. It’s the end of the world as we know it. Let’s drink. Maybe we can then find a way to get along with everyone in the world, including the democrats.

Remember to drink responsibly, and never drink and drive. The life you save may very well be you’re own. Sincerely: your friend John D. Have a blessed day my friends.

To A Happy Valentines Day:

I sincerely hope that all of you have a great valentine’s day. Hopefully these cocktails can arm you with a way to show the person you love the most, that you truly do love them. That you are going out of your way to treat them to a good night. While, most other bloggers are trying to sell you a bunch of jewelry that just ends up in the back of the drawer.

I am just trying to help you spread a little love in the world. Alcohol has been helping people fall in love since the first day that it was produced. And thank goodness for that, or this ugly man would have never gotten laid without paying for it. That is actually how I got with my wife back in the day. The night that I decided to call and ask her to go out with me, she was down in her basement with her older brother doing shots of Jack Daniels. So it’s no wonder why she said yes before I could finish asking her out. Just in case you are wondering, no Jack Daniel’s is not my favorite brand of alcohol, that would be reserved for Jim Beam Kentucky Straight Bourbon. Well I won’r bore you anymore.

Remember to drink responsibly, and never drink and drive. The life that you save may very well be your own. sincerely: your friend John D. Have a blessed day my friends.
