Baileys Irish Cream, A Perfect Treat: My Favorite For The Holidays.

Baileys Irish cream has been a long time favorite of mine, particularly around the holidays. There is just something about the richness that it has, that makes me crave it on a cold winter night. Bundled up in a blanket, holding a hot cup of coffee with a splash of Baileys Irish cream. It does’nt get any better than that for me.

Baileys Irish Coffee:Original Irish Cream:

Ingredients;

1) 2 ounces of Baileys original Irish cream:

2) 6 ounces of hot coffee:

3) 1 ounce of Irish whiskey:

4) 1 dollop of whipped cream, this is optional for the garnish.

To Make;

Combine Baileys Irish cream, coffee, and the Irish whiskey in a tall coffee mug. Top off with the whipped cream, serve, and enjoy. This recipe makes one serving, so if you are having guests, just repeat the recipe for the number of cocktails that you need. If you would like, you do not to add the Irish whiskey, but why would you leave it out? This is one of those cocktails that you can get away with at work, especially if you leave the Irish whiskey out. Something to ponder on.

Baileys Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate:Cramel Hot Chocolate:

Ingredients;

1) 1 and a half ounces of Baileys sated caramel

2) 1teaspoon of hot chocolate powder

3) 3 ounces of whole milk, trust me you want the whole milk, none of the low fat stuff for this cocktail.

4)Whipped cream

5) Salted caramel sauce

6) Popcorn, and pretzels for the garnish. This makes one serving, so follow for the number of cocktails that you need.

Step 1) Gently heat the 3 ounces of milk along with the hot chocolate powder.

Step 2) Pour into a tall mug or heat-resistant glass, and then add the wow, with the 1 and a half ounces of Baileys Irish cream, salted caramel.

Step 3) Pile on the whipped cream, a drizzle of salted caramel sauce, and some marshmallows, or some popcorn, or chocolate dipped pretzels. Why choose just one? They all go great with this cocktail. This is another great way to end a cold long day during the fall, winter or any time that you need a little warming up. Make one for spouse as well, that way the two of you can snuggle up under a blanket together. You never know, something else may develop to warm you both up after you finish the cocktails of course.

Baileys Red Velvet Hot Chocolate:Baileys Red Velvet Hot Chocolate:

Ingredients;

1) 1 and a half ounces of Baileys limited edition red velvet Irish cream

2) 8 ounces of whole milk, USE THE WHOLE MILK, not the low fat crap, you deserve a treat now and then. So, go ahead and splurge a little. Your worth it.

3) Half a cup of dark chocolate, none of the powdered mix for this one. It to special.

To make;

Gently heat the dark chocolate and the 8 ounces of milk until all the chocolate is combined with milk, add the Baileys limited edition red velvet. Pour into a good sized mug or heat-resistant glass, and add a bit of whipped cream for that dazzling look.

Baileys Hot Chocolate:

Ingredients;

1) 1 and a half ounces of Baileys original Irish cream

2) 1 teaspoon of hot chocolate powder, you can add more powder if you like your hot chocolate more chocolaty

3) 3 ounces of whole milk

4) A dollop of whipped cream

5) Chocolate sprinkles, chocolate brownies, chocolate fingers, chocolate sauce, anything chocolate to garnish is alright with me. What the heck, anything chocolate is great with any of the Baileys Irish creams. And who does’nt like chocolate?

To make;

Prepare the hot chocolate like you normally would, pour into your favorite mug, add the Baileys original Irish cream, and enjoy.

The Many Products Of Baileys:

It has come to my attention that Baileys has come out with several flavors for us to sample and savor. Do not worry, we are going to talk about them today, starting with,

1) Baileys chocolate cherry, a luscious black cherry aroma is quickly followed by the bold roasted taste of decadent chocolate, and lightly toasted nutty notes, more dark chocolate than milk chocolate impression. This would be a great choice to add to your next bowl of ice cream, for a decadent and flavorful dessert.

2) Baileys Vanilla cinnamon, imagine the flavor of melting vanilla ice cream with a cinnamon swirl bun fresh out of the oven, my mouth is watering just writing about this one. Smooth and rich, this is a decadent treat that is suitable for savoring in your favorite specialty coffee.

3) Baileys Apple Pie, just in time for fall, apple pie is a timeless dessert. Loved all across America for its heart warming nostalgic taste. This fall Baileys invites you to gather around friends, and family and enjoy the taste of freshly baked apple pie a la mode, blended with Irish dairy cream. Baileys apple pie is the perfect autumn treat to enjoy as a cocktail over ice, or in a chai tea, or over some ice cream. This sounds fabulous, wish I had some right now, what about you? A classic flavor for a modern adult treat.

4) Baileys Red Velvet, this is a drink that tastes like a cupcake. It is what dreams are made of. swirled with Irish cream for a chocolaty treat straight out of the bakery. Enjoy over some ice, as a shot, or add some into your next baking project. Imagine using some in your next batch of chocolate-chip cookies.

5) Baileys Espresso cre`me; A delicious combination that was meant to be. Real coffee flavor, and other natural flavors meet yummy Baileys original Irish cream for a big bold hit of wonderful. Perfect for when you need to concentrate on the important things in life; coffee, chocolate, and creamy Baileys. Enjoy neat, or over the rocks, or in any coffee cocktail that your little heart desires. Or you can simply add a splash to a piping hot cup of coffee for some extra wow, at the end of a long day.

6) Baileys strawberries and cream; Just the dreamy flavors of ripe strawberries and vanilla, mingling with Baileys original Irish cream. Float away in a strawberry bubble of pure pleasure, we won’t tell anyone on you, it will be are little secret. Splash over some ice, swirl into your favorite desserts, and cocktails. Or drizzle over ice cream for a delicious grown-up treat. This one is sure to hit the sweet spot.

Beat The Heat:

For our first mixer with our friend Mr. Jack Daniel’s, I have gone out and found a good one, in order to calm down this heat wave that has gripped the world this summer. I am going to start you off with a frozen Jack and coke. A classic but with a new spin on it.

Before I forget Jack Daniel’s and Coca Cola is both register’d trade marks.

Stir all the ingredients with some ice, pour over a large format ice cube. A big chunk will be fine. Pour into a rocks glass, or a short glass you have in the kitchen cabinet is okay as well. All that is left to do now, is to garnish the drink with an orange peel, and it’s oils. Sit back and enjoy. This is a perfect cocktail to entertain any buissines lunch guests. Or just to impress some old college buddies. When I said tasty tequila drinks you can easily make at home, I was’nt joking

The Mystic Marvel:

Even the sound of this one sends shivers down my spine. However, it looks to darn good to pass up.

Ingredients:

1.5 oz of casamigos tequila:

1oz of prickly pear pur’ee:

.75 oz of agave nectar:

.75 oz of lime juice, fresh is best, but a bottled on will work as well.

Preparation:

Combine all the ingredients over ice, in a shaker, shake for about 10 seconds, then strain over fresh ice in a short glass.

Garnish with a salt rim and a lime wheel. this one to impress. Serve at any gathering you have this summer, and you are sure to be the talk of the neighborhood. I mean come on just look at the sheer beauty of it. Right now I wish that I was at home with the wife. I would certainly be mixing a couple of these up for the two of us. knowing me, I would probably make a pitcher of it, and drink the night away.

The Night Has To Come To End:

Well it is the end of another great conversation with some great friends. I sincerely hope that you are enjoying the content here at love of spirits. Please, if there is ever anything that I can help you with. Do not hesitate to drop me a line. Let me know what you would like to talk about. Or if you have a cocktail recipe that you would like to know about, let me know. Please feel free to leave me a comment on any of the topics found on this site. I promise you, that I will not bite, well not to hard anyway

Thank you for stopping by today, I look forward to hearing from you soon. And remember please drink responsibly and do not drink and drive. I am so sick and tired of going to funerals. If I never have to go to another, that would be absolutely fine with me. Plus the life you save just may very well be your own life. Enjoy the parties that we attend, just make sure that when you leave those parties, that you are sober enough to drive safely. Know that I am working hard for you. It does me no good if you go out and drink. Thenget behind the wheel of a car and kill yourself or someone else. I think this pandemic has taken enough lives, don’t you? So do me a huge favor won’t you? Stay home and make these easy tequila drinks. Have a great night friends

Love always John D.

Bourbon Drink Recipes:

Good day everyone, I sincerely hope that you all are having a spirited day. I am really glad that you stopped by today. I am going to be talking about my favorite Bourbon drink recipes. As well as my absolute favorite Bourbon to drink. So please stick around, and have a drink with me.

MY FAVORITE BOURBON:

My hands down favorite Bourbon to drink, well that’s a no brainer, Jim Beam. Now don’t get me wrong, there are a lot of other bourbons on the market today. However when it comes to bourbon recipes, Jim Beam is the only one that I prefer to use. Now I am a simple man, and I keep my mixes simple. With that being said, my go to drink with Bourbon is a easy recipe. So to start with,you need a sixteen to eighteen oz. glass, fill halfway up with ice, pour Jim Beam over the ice, and then fill the cup the rest of the way with 7up or some other kind of lemon lime soda. I usually just buy a 2ltr. bottle of Sam’s choice lemon lime soda for 60 cents.

I know that is a simple drink, and most of you may be looking for something a bit more sophisticated. Well don’t worry, I have you folks covered as well. This was a first for me to just say how simple of a man I am. However if you stay a little while longer, I promise, you won’t be disappointed. In the next section of our chat, I have found a few Bourbon drink recipes, that I believe you will really enjoy.

.

Kentucky Sunrise:

This is a Bourbon drink recipe that is sure to brighten the morning. You will need a few items. Ingredients: half an oz. Of grenadine, 1oz of Jim Beam Bourbon, 3 oz’s of orange juice, orange slices, and some stem cherries . Prepare in a tall highball glass. Don’t worry, if you do not have one, any tall glass that you have will suffice just fine. Float the grenadine, and garnish with the orange slice, or the cherry. If you feel adventurous, you can garnish with both the orange slice, or the cherry.

In my opinion this is the perfect cocktail to serve at a brunch. Especially if you are trying to impress your friends. I should remind you that this along with all the cocktails in this post, should be built over ice. Let’s be real, nobody likes warm drinks, especially in the summer. Particularly with the heat we are having around the globe this summer. So promise me you will chill your creations. Believe me, you do not want to hand your father in law a warm cocktail. If you like this one let me know. But before we go, I just happen to have two more Bourbon drink recipes for you to enjoy so please, keep reading.

JIM BEAM BOURBON SOUR:

Remember I mentioned above, to build these cocktails over ice, let’s get right into what you will need. Ingredients: 2oz’s of Jim Beam Bourbon, 1oz. of lemon juice half an oz. of lemon lime soda, half a teaspoon of sugar, lemon wedge and a cherry. To make, mix Bourbon, lemon juice, sugar, and ice in a shaker. Shake vigorously, and strain into a whiskey sour glass, again, if you do not have a sour glass a short glass of any kind you have lying around will do just as good. All that is left to do now, is garnish with a lemon  wedge and a cherry.Oh, this one sounds so mouth watering good. My taste buds are on fire for this one. A perfect cocktail for that afternoon meeting, or on that long layover. As always let me know how this one is for you.

Don’t you dare take off just yet, we’re just getting comfortable. After all isn’t that what Bourbon drinks are all about. Sitting back with good friends and catching up on all the things we missed with each other. Whether it has been a day or two, or year or two. No matter what the occasion, a good Bourbon drink is always in order. And besides, did you think that I was going to leave without giving one more fabulous bourbon drink recipe? Well no, I have one more for you, trust me this one is perfect on a hot evening after work, or hell any darn time you want to cool off, or get warmed up. Or whenever you feel like a cocktail.

KENTUCKY SWEET TEA:

Did I lie ? A sweet tea, not just for the south. Perfect for a warm day, or any other time. This one is probably going to become a favorite one of yours. Alright I’ll stop rambling and get down to business. Ingredients: 1oz. of Dekuyper ( Peachtree) Schnapps liqueur, 2 oz’s of bourbon, then 3oz’s of sweet tea, you can probably get away with using powdered tea mix and no one would be the wiser. And last but not least, a lemon wedge. To prepare, build over ice in a tall glass. Garnish with a lemon wedge. Boy oh boy, this sounds really refreshing. Keep in mind, you do not have to use powdered tea mix. You can always brew your own tea, and as much or as little sugar. You won’t need a whole lot of sugar though. Bourbon is not that harsh. I think that this is one alcohol that gets overlooked way too much. And we need to bring this back up to the front of our liquor cabinets.

Well there you have it:

I hope that you enjoy these bourbon drink recipes. I will continue to keep my eyes open for exciting ideas for us to try out. As always if you happen to try these out, please by all means, come back and let me know how it went. It is my greatest pleasure to provide all of you with quality content. Hopefully you find this site informative, and helpful.

Thank you for stopping by. Please drink responsibly, and never drive while intoxicated, or under the influence. God bless. And be safe. Love John D

MY STORY

I’d like to welcome you to loveofspirits.com I appreciate you stopping by here, even if it’s just for a brief time. I hope that you enjoy your visit while you’re here. It is my hope that you find the content  interesting, and that you feel abliged to let your friends,and family know that you found the content of this site to be helpful for you.

Hi thank you for stopping by today, my name is John Denekar, yes this is my real name. You may wonder why I decided to  start a site about alcohol.  Well let’s take a short trip back to 1970, that is when I was three years old. We we’re living in Rochester  New York. My father was in the United States navy. One day him and my mother had a backyard barbecue,  my father had some friends from his ship over for this gathering.

So since I was three years old  at the time my parents placed me in a play pen to keep me from running off. The play pen was placed over by father and the grill. Now we can get  to the fun part of my story. My father’s chief petty officer  was helping with the grill. There was a small table by the grill, my father’s chief would set his beer down on this table while he tended to the food. Now guess who’s play pen was next to the table. Yup, that’s right,  it was me in my play pen.

I’m pretty sure you can guess what happens in this story now. However I think that I will paint the picture for you.  So every time the chief would put his beer down, I would reach up, grab the beer, drink it and place the empty bottle back on the table. Now the chief couldn’t figure out what happened to his beer, so he would go grab another cold one from  the cooler, then come back to grill, and set his beer on the table. I would again pick up the beer, drink it, and place the empty bottle back on the table. This happened three times in total. My father and his chief finally figured out what was going on with his beers. But not until I was found fast asleep, curled up in the corner of my play pen with a empty beer bottle in my hand.

Now let’s fast forward to the 80’s.  When I  was a teenager,  pretty much when all of us were trying just about everything under the sun. So of course I found ways to get a hold of some beer for a party in the woods, or perhaps something stronger to drink. Like teenagers do. Then my high school graduation when my mother got two full kegs. Shortly after, I left home to attend bootcamp for the US navy, following in my father’s footsteps.  Since I was not of legal age to drink, I had to go without. Atleast until my first duty station. I was sent to Japan to serve on the USS Midway. Now in Japan, you can drink alcohol no matter what age you are. I was still stationed there when I got the call that my mother had passed away.  I  came home for the funeral, not being of legal drinking age. Fortunately for me, I had friends who were of legal age. Plus having a military ID helped me to purchase beer. Returning to Japan allowed me to live inside the bottle. I had a rough time after loosing my mother, I actually lost myself for a long time. Even when I  transferred to my second duty station in California, I found ways to get alcohol until I turned 21.

After I finished my military service, I  came back home to New York state, I married the love of my life and we have five children together. Now at age of 53 I still drink, but I do it occasionally and responsibly.  So alcohol has been a part of my life ,my whole life. I guess you can say that I’m a alcoholic.  I never went to alcoholics anonymous or any other support group. I had my wife kids to keep from going over the edge. I just figured out, you can still have a drink without going overboard.

My whole purpose for this website is to show that you can still have a cocktail or two, and still keep it in control. My drinking pretty much ruined my career in the United States navy. I don’t want you to loose whatever is important in your life.

You can still enjoy a drink or two and not be a jackass to the people that you love. Whether they are a family member or a close friend. Believe me the abuse of alcohol can take away everything that you hold dear to your heart, including yourself.

My number one goal for this site, is discuss different types of alcoholic beverages.  Im not talking about your common rum and coke, or jack Daniel’s and coke. However those two beverages won’t be excluded.

All types of alcohol will be welcome here, after all, we are all adults here. We each have our own opinions and we know what we like. My main goal here is going to be drink recipes that can be made at home,  That can be shared with our family and friends.  But allows us to drink responsibly.

If you ever need a hand or have ay questions, feel free to leave them below and I will be more than happy to help you out.

All the best,

John J. Denekar II
