Lemon Drop Martini:Lemon Drop Goodness:

This is the adult version of one of our favorite childhood candies. Tart yet sweet, the Lemon Drop is typically drank as a shot or straight up in a martini glass. Add a sugar rim to your glass for an added kick of sweetness.

Ingredients:

1) 2 ounces of vodka

2) 1/2 an ounce of cointreau

3) 1/2 an ounce of fresh Lemon Juice

4) Sugar to rim the glass ( optional )

To Make; Pour all ingredients into an ice filled cocktail shaker, shake for 10- 15 seconds or until cold. Srain the liquid into two shot gasses, or a martini glass. And enjoy.

The 50/50 Martini:Perfect Martini:

The cocktail we know as the martini, has a muddy origin story. It’s name has changed over the years, as have its contents. But by the early 20th century, what we now refer to as the martini was codified as a mix of London Dry Gin and dry vermouth, garnished with a lemon twist or an olive or two. Since then, it has permeated the American culture and become an unrivaled symbol of sophistication. In its famous conical glass, the martini is a visual currency the world over, on millions of menus and neon signs. In many ways the martini is THE cocktail.

Our take on the perfect martini consists of half Botanist Gin and half dry vermouth. This is the lighter variation, making it the perfect cocktail for spring and summer weather.

Ingredients:

1) 1 1/2 ounces of Botanist Gin

2) 1 1/2 ounces of Dry Vermouth

3) A dash of Orange Bitters

4) Lemon peels or olives for the garnish ( Not Optional )

To Make; Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass filled with ice cubes, and stir until outside of the glass becomes frosted. Strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a lemon twist or a couple of olives.

French Martini:Flavorful Martini:

Originally created for Chambord’s worldwide promotion, the key ingredient to this cocktail is the Chambord Liqueur. The unique feature for this drink is that it was created specifically for a liqueur, which means substituting it would leave a bland taste.

Ingredients:

1) 1 1/2 ounces of Vodka

2) 1/4 of an ounce of Chambord Raspberry Liqueur

3) 1/4 of an ounce of Pineapple Juice

4) 1 Twist of a Lemon peel to garnish

To Make; Pour all ingredients into an ice filled cocktail shaker, shake vigorously for 5 – 10 seconds. Strain into a chilled martini glass and enjoy.

Olivette:Light Martini:

In this lighter version of the classic Gin Martini, St.Germain provide the perfect balance of flavors: the botanicles of the Gin, the wine notes of the vermouth, and the fruity notes of the St.- Germain.

Ingredients:

1) 1/2 an ounce of St.-Germain Elderflower Liqueur

2) 1 ounce of Noilly Prat Dry Vermouth

3) 1 ounce of Oxley Dry Gin

To Make; Add ingredients into a chilled mixing glass filled with ice cubes. Stir well to combine and pour into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a green olive or two. Enjoy.

The Churchill Martini:A True Classic:

A quirky and complicated man, Winston Churchill was known for his love of livations. when, asked how he would like his Gin Martini prepared he replied ” I would like to observe the vermouth from across the while I drink my martini”. Served chilled and neat, this cocktail contains nothing more than gin and ice in proximity to a bottle of vermouth. Wacky and unique just like its name sake.

Ingredients:

1) 2 1/2 ounces of Plymouth Gin

2) 1 scoop of ice

3) 1 green olive to garnish

To Make; Add gin to a mixing glass full of ice cubes and stir until well chilled. While stirring, glance occasionally at a bottle of vermouth from across the room. Srain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a single green olive. Enjoy

Martinique:Variation Of The French Martini:

A variation of the French Martini, this recipe replaces the pineapple juice for the more exotic Caribbean flavor of mango. Chambord is one of our favorite cocktail additions– when we restock our bar, we always make sure a bottle of this is on the list.

Ingredients:

1) 2 ounces of Chambord

2) 1 ounce of Vodka

3) 1/2 an ounce of lemon juice

4) 1/2 an ounce of mango juice

To Make; Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with some ice cubes, and shake until frosty cold. Strain into a chilled martini glass, then enjoy. No garnish needed.

Apple Cider Honey Jack Martini:Apple Jack For Adults:

This cider honey martini is fall in a glass, but works just as well for the spring and summer months. The perfect balance of sweet and tart. Thanks to yummy ingredients like apple cider, fresh lemon juice, Honey Jack, and a pinch of cinnamon. Doesn’t this sound sophisticated?

Ingredients:

1) 2 ounces of Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey Whiskey

2) 1 ounce of unfiltered apple cider

3) 1/2 an ounce of freshly squeezed lemon juice

4) Fresh ground cinnamon to taste*

5) Sliced apples for the garnish ( optional )

To Make: Combine Honey Jack, lemon, and cider in a cocktail shaker with some ice and a pinch of cinnamon, shake until well chilled. Rim the martini glass with a mixture of ground cinnamon and sugar. Strain the liquid into the martini glass, then garnish with the apple slices if you choose to do so. Enjoy any time of the year.

Try these classic martini with a twist and please let me know if they made you feel a little more sophisticated or not.

Rye Whiskey The Future Of Cocktails:

In the past there has only been a handful of alcohols for us to use to make our favorite cocktails with. In the more recent years there has been a new trend in the cocktail world. Even though these whiskeys have been around for many years, many of us, myself included, have ignored them. Now with the new trend in high gear, I say that rye whiskey is the future of cocktails. A Few Ways To Enjoy Guinness Besides Drinking It:

With St. Patrick’s day right around the corner many of us will be enjoying a pint or two of Guinness Stout Beer, myself excluded. For today’s article I thought that it might be a little fun to share a few ways to enjoy Guinness besides drinking it. So, I have found a few ways to include this world-famous stout in a couple of recipes, including a nice sweet desert for you. Don’t worry, I still have a cocktail recipe for you to enjoy after one of these meals. And, it is a very fitting one for the up- coming holiday. It is also a very easy drink to make, no complications included. I hope that enjoy these recipes that I have found for you. You are the reason that I do this, I just want to help you save some time and some money as well.

Rib Eye With Brussels Sprouts And Cream Stout Sauce:Rib Eye Steak:

This intense sauce is thickened with bread and enriched with dark stout. Pairs well with any steak, particularly a thick cut like this rib eye. Also, you have a hearty mix of sauteed onions and brussels sprouts to go along with this meal.

Ingredients:

Stout Sauce:

1) 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil

2) 1 cup of Spanish onion thinly sliced

3) 1/2 cup of dark stout ( Guinness is a good choice )

4) 1/2 cup of heavy cream

5) 1 slice of sourdough bread ( cut 2- inch thick, crusts removed and bread diced)

6) Kosher salt

7) Fresh ground black pepper

8) Guinness Stout Beer

Vegetables:

1) 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil

2) 1/2 pound of Brussels sprouts halved

3) 8 cipollini onions, peeled and halved lengthwise

4) 4 spring onions quartered lengthwise

5) Kosher salt

6) Fresh ground black pepper

Rib Eye:

1) 1 boneless rib eye steak ( 2 pounds about 2 inches thick )

2) Vegetable oil for brushing

3) Kosher salt

4) Fresh ground black pepper

To Make The Sauce:

Step One:

In a medium saucepan, heat oil until shimmering. Add the onion and cook over moderate heat, stirring occasionally, until softened and golden, about seven minutes. Add the Guinness stout, cream, bread, and bring just to a boil. Simmer over moderately low heat, stirring occasionally, until the bread is very soft, about ten minutes. Transfer the sauce to a blender and puree until smooth. Season the sauce with salt and freshly ground black pepper and keep warm over very low heat.

The Vegetables:

Step Two:

In a large skillet, heat the oil until shimmering. Add the Brussels sprouts and cipollinis, and cook over medium heat, stirring, just until they start to brown, about five minutes. Add in the spring onions and one cup of water and cook, stirring until the vegetables are crisp- tender and the water is absorbed, about five minutes. Season with salt and fresh ground black pepper, and keep warm.

Grill The Rib Eye:

Step Three:

Light a grill, any type will do just fine. Brush the steak with oil and season with salt and fresh ground black pepper. Grill over moderately high heat, turning once, until charred outside and medium- rare within, five minutes per side, this is if the steak has been pre- thawed, longer if still frozen. Transfer to a cutting board and let rest for five minutes. Slice the steak against the grain and serve with the vegetables and stout sauce.

Guinness Glazed Halibut:Glazed Halibut With Carrots:

Guinness has a great molasses flavor that intensifies when you cook it down. It will add some richness to the fish without adding any fat to this recipe.

Ingredients:

1) Two 12 ounce bottles of Guinness Stout

2) 1/3 cup of honey

3) 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice

4) Half teaspoon of hot sauce

5) Salt

6) Four 6- ounce skinless halibut fillets

7) Four large carrots, cut into 2-by 1/2 inch sticks

8) Extra virgin olive oil, for brushing

9) Freshly ground black pepper

To Make:

Step One:

In a skillet, bring the stout and honey to a boil. Simmer over medium heat, Skimming, until reduced to half a cup, about 25 minutes. Pour into a heat- proof bowl, and stir in the lemon juice, hot sauce, and half a teaspoon of salt. Let cool to room temperature.

Step Two:

In a shallow baking dish, pour half of the stout glaze over the halibut fillets and turn to coat thoroughly. Cover and refrigerate overnight, turning the fillets a few times. Reserve the remaining glaze.

Step Three:

Preheat the broiler. Bring a saucepan of water to a boil. Add the carrots and boil until just tender, about four minutes, and drain. Pour the reserved stout glaze into the saucepan and boil over high heat until thickened and reduced to 1/3 cup, about two minutes. Add the carrots and simmer until well glazed, about one minute.

Step Four:

Remove the halibut from the marinade and arrange the fillets on a rimmed baking sheet. Brush the halibut with olive oil and season with fresh ground black pepper. Broil about four inches from the heat until richly browned and just cooked through, about four minutes. Transfer the halibut fillets to plates and serve with the Guinness glazed carrots.

Chocolate- Stout Tiramisu:Guinness Stout Tiramisu:

Now that I have given you a couple of meal recipes, it is only fitting that I give at least one desert recipe. I hope you like all the ways to enjoy Guinness Stout beside drinking it, including this classic with a twist.

Cake:

1) 1 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour

2) 1 teaspoon of cinnamon

6) 1 1/2 cups of dark cane syrup

7) 1/2 cup of vegetable oil

8) 1 large egg

9) 3/4 cups of hot water

10) 1 1/2 teaspoons of baking soda

Reduction:

1) 1 cup of chocolate stout or some other stout

2) 1/2 cup of triple-sec or orange liqueur

3) 1/4 cup of honey

2) 1/3 cup of confectioner’s sugar

3) 2 cups of mascarpone ( about one pound )

4) unsweetened cocoa powder

To Make:

Step One:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Butter a 9- inch spring form pan. In a large bowl, whisk the flour, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and salt. In a medium bowl, whisk the syrup, oil, and egg. In a glass cup, stir the hot water with the baking soda. In three alternating additions, whisk the syrup mixture and soda water into the dry ingredients.

Step Two:

Scrape the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 50 minutes, until a cake tester in the center of the cake comes out clean. Use a tooth-pick or butter knife to check the cake. Transfer the cake to a wire rack and let cool. Unmold the cake from the pan.

Step Three:

In a saucepan combine the stout, triple-sec, and honey. Boil until it reduces to 3/4 of a cup, eight minutes. Pour into a shallow dish and let cool.

Step Four:

In a bowl, using a hand mixer beat the egg yolks and sugar until they are fluffy. Beat in the mascarpone.

Step Five:

Cut off and save one-third of the cake for eating. Slice the rest of the cake 1/3 inch thick. Cut the slices into 3-inch pieces, saving the scraps. Dip the slices into the reduction and use to fill in the gaps. Spread 1/4 cup of the filling over the cake in each ramekin. Repeat the layering of dipped cake and filling. Cover, and refrigerate overnight.

Step Six:

Before serving let the tiramisu stand at room temperature for 15 minutes. Sift cocoa powder over each ramekin and serve.

As you all know, we have a new leader of the free world, well a free world for now. That may not be the case if the democrats get their way. It seems to me, that they want to do away with the republican party, maybe it’s just me, what do you think about the way the democrat party is going? This is not something that just sprung up out of no where, the democrats have been trying to infringe on our rights for a good many years. The sad part is that the majority of the American people have been blind to this for a long time. I say that it is time for us as Americans to take a stand against them. However, this past election just shows you how oblivious we all are to what it is happening in this country. Now, with our new leader, it’s the end of the world as we know it. let’s drink.

Usually I give you a couple of cocktail recipes in my article, today I thought that I would just keep things simple, and give you a few classic drinks that we all know and love. If you have never had them, then please give them a try tonight. Before I forget, you can get all the alcohol you need with a $10.00 discount . Just use code LUV at checkout.

Bourbon And Seven:Jim Beam & 7-UP:

For those of you who have been here before, you know that Jim Beam holds a special place in my heart. What you may not know though, is my favorite way to drink it is. So, let me share this with you today. I hope that this becomes one of your favorite ways to enjoy a glass of Jim Beam.

First you will need a highball glass ( Tall Glass ) fill the glass with some ice. Add about 2 ounces of Jim Beam Kentucky Sraight Bourbon Whiskey. Top off the glass with chilled 7-UP, then gently stir to combine the ingredients together. Sit back and enjoy.

The pure beauty of this cocktail is that there are only three ingredients Jim Beam, 7-UP, and ice cubes. Can you tell what the theme of today’s article is going to be now?

Spirits used:

Jim Beam

Jack And Coke:Jack And Coke:

This is probably the most iconic cocktail in the world, you go anywhere in the world and ask the barkeep for one of these, and chances are that they know exactly what you are asking for. Take it from me, I have been all around the world, and have been able to order a Jack and Coke no matter where I was at.

Add ice cubes to a highball glass ( Tall Glass ) then pour an ounce or two of Jack Daniels over the ice. Top off with the glass with Coca Cola, and gently stir to combine the ingredients together. Sit back and enjoy the rest of the evening with this three ingredient cocktail.

Spirit’s used

Jack Daniels

Screwdriver:

This classic cocktail is even easier to make then the two above, it only needs two ingredients to make. Just about everyone has had a screwdriver at time or another during their adult life. And if you haven’t, well then you have been living a very sheltered life. Have you had a screwdriver yet? If not, then this will be a simple cocktail for you to make. So, let’s’s get right to it shall we?

In a glass of your choosing, add an ounce or two of Vodka to the bottom of the glass. Then all that you need to do is top off the glass with some ice-cold Orange Juice. Use a long, or a bar spoon to stir the two ingredients together. And enjoy this classic cocktail after a long day of whatever you were doing. Now, I have to warn you about this drink, the sweetness of the orange juice can trick you into thinking that you are only drinking orange juice. You may forget that you added Vodka to it, and end up drinking more then you ha intended on. Before you know it, you are completely stoned out of your mind, and can longer walk a straight line. So please be careful with this one, it has come back to bite me in the backside a couple of times in my life.

Spirit’s’s Used:

Absolute Vodka

A little side note for you before we move on to the next drink, all of these links are made to open in a new tab. This means that if you click on the link, you will not lose your place here on this page. You will be able to come right back where you left off. Also, I want you to know that I make a small commission on any purchase that you make. Alright, let’s get to our fourth and final classic cocktail for today, shall we?

Gin And Tonic:Breakfast Of Champions:

This one is another favorite of mine, it reminds of a time of friendship and brotherhood. But, that is another story that you can read in an earlier article. That is why I refer to gin and tonic as a breakfast drink. Now, don’t get me wrong here, this classic cocktail can be enjoyed at any time of the day or night. You can have one of them on your daily lunch break. But, don’t tell your boss that I said you could do that, I will deny everything.

In a highball glass ( Tall Glass ) add some ice about half the way up. Pour about an ounce or two of Gin over the ice. Then top off the glass with tonic water, carbonated water. If you would like this drink to be a little bit more sweet, you can add a simple syrup to the cocktail. All that is equal parts of water and sugar brought to a boil, then left to cool.

You can add some lemon or lime wheels for a garnish if you would like to, but it is not necessary to garnish. Garnishing is for fancy people who like to say hey, look at me, I’m fancy. And I know that’s none of you, am I right?

Spirit’s Used:

Tanqueray London Dry Gin

Have A Blessed Weekend:

I hope that you enjoy these cocktails this weekend. It’s the end of the world as we know it. Let’s drink. Maybe we can then find a way to get along with everyone in the world, including the democrats.

Remember to drink responsibly, and never drink and drive. The life you save may very well be you’re own. Sincerely: your friend John D. Have a blessed day my friends.

I Have A Dream, Cocktails For Freedom: In light of Martin Luther King day.

Many years ago, before a lot of us were even born, one man had a dream of equality. A day when people of all color and races could walk down a street hand in hand. To this day, that has not happened, some people are still filled with hate in their hearts. I have a dream, cocktails for freedom. Perhaps we can sit down at the table and enjoy a drink or two together, no matter what color our skin is. Anyone who knows me, knows that I am not a man of prejudice. I just do not understand why we still have all this hate in the world. Maybe one day we as a one race will be able accept one another. And be able to put aside all the animosity t words one another. That is my goal in life, even if it just to sit and have a cocktail or two.

This weekend I am having a sale, the discount of ten dollars, on any order of thirty dollars or more. Use code MLK10 at check out. ->->->CLICK HERE<-<-<- to see if you can get one hour delivery to your home. YUP, YOU HEARD ME RIGHT you can get a delivery time of one hour. This keeps you safe at home, and you can continue to party even after the bars close.

Freedom Mule:

2) 7 whole pink peppercorns, muddled

3) 3 chucks of watermelon muddled

4) 1/4 ounce of bitter orange liqueur

3) 1 cup of simple syrup

4) 2 lemons

5) 4 drops of red food coloring

Garnish: 4 packs of Pop Rocks and 1 Granny Smith apple.

To Make; Pour the bottle of ros’e into a glass baking dish. The larger the surface area, the faster the ros’e will freeze. When the ros’e is mostly frozen, begin preparing the berry mixture. Blend one bag of frozen raspberries, one cup of simple syrup, 4 drops of the red food coloring, and the juice of one lemon using a blender until the mixture is smooth.

Add the frozen ros’e to the berry mixture in the blender, and pulse lightly to combine. Pour the mixture back into the baking dish and place back in the freezer for one hour. At this time, prepare the serving glasses while the fros’e solidifies. Open one pack of pop-rocks and pour onto a small plate. Use a lemon slice to wet the edge of each glass, and dip into the pop-rocks. Work quickly as the pop-rocks stick better when the glasses are moist. Open more packets of pop-rocks as needed.

Vertically slice the Granny Smith apple into1/4 inch thick rounds. Using a star shaped cookie cutter, cut apple stars from the slices. Cut a slit from the stars center to one outer point. Use this slit to wedge the Apple star onto the rim of the glass.( To prevent the apple slices from browning, sprinkle a few drops of lemon juice on them immediately after cutting them. )

Remove the ros’e from the freezer and scrape into a pitcher. Stir. Evenly distribute the frozen drink between all the garnished glasses, and enjoy. I have a dream, cocktails for freedom has come to an end. I hope that you give some of these a try with some friends. If you do please stop back and let me know if you liked them. I truly wish for equality on this earth, hopefully before I pass away.

Remember to drink responsibly, and never drink and drive, the life you save my very well be your own. Sincerely: your friend John D. Have a blessed weekend friends.
