This summer has been a little bit hotter this year, why should the children have all the fun with frozen treats? I say let us adults have some of the fun with these adult treats and frozen cocktails to beat the summer heat. Just do me one favor, do’nt let the little one get their hands on these one, do we have a deal?
Shark Attack Shots:
Enjoy a fun summer time treat any time you want to add a little fun to your day. Just do’nt let the kids get a hold of these ones.
1) One box of un-flavored gelatin mix
2) 2/3 cups of lime juice
3) 3/4 cups of Coconut Tequila
4) 1/4 cup of Blue Curacao
5) 1/2 a teaspoon of Agave Nectar
6) 1 package of Shark Gummie Candies
7) Red Lifesaver Candies ( for the garnish )
Prepare the gelatin according to the intructions on the package directions. Mix all remaining ingredients and pour into a heat- proof bowl along with the gelatin. Make sure to line the dish with plastic wrap to set. Halfway through setting, place the gummy sharks candies 1-2 inches apart across the top of the gelatin, return mixture to the fridge to set the rest of the way. When you are ready to serve, slice into sqaures around the gummie sharks. Place the red Lifsaver candies on top for decoration. Enjoy responsibly, and remember to keep these away from the children.
We like Pina Coladas around here as well as caught in the rain. You will like this easy way to make, and easy to enjoy summer cocktail. Maybe you will find your tropical get away after a couple of drinks.
1) 1 ounce of Light Rum
2) 1 ounce of White Rum
3) 1 1/2 ounces of Coconut Cream
4) 3 ounces of Pineapple Juice
5) Fruit to garnish ( optional )
In a blender, combine all ingredients with 1 cup of ice, and blend until smooth. Serve in a hurricane glass with some fruit if desired, or leave the fruit out. Garnish with a straw, and enjoy one or two.
Grilled Summer Punch Margaritas:
Fresh peaches and the grill, bring together two summer staples to make a refreshing frozen cocktail that you are sure to love, as well as enjoy all summer long.
1) 3 ounces of Reposado Tequila
2) 1 ounce of Mezcal
3) 2 1/2 ounces of fresh squeezed Lime Juice
4) 1/2 an ounce of Dry Orange Curacao
5) 1 ounce of Agave Nectar
6) 2 ripe peaches, pitted and halved
7) 1 cup of ice
8) 1/4 cup of sea salt
9) 1-2 sprigs of basil or mint leaves for a garnish
10) Sliced peaches for a garnish
11) Lime wheels for a garnish
Bring a gass grill to medium heat, place the peach halves face down for about 4 to 5 minutes, until char marks develope. Carefully flip the halves over and grill for another 4 to 5 minutes. set aside to allow to completely cool. While waiting for the peaches to cool, make a quick salted herb rim by pulsing the sea salt and herb sprigs in a food processoruntil well incorporated. Pour the salted herb mixture onto a plate. Prepair two cocktail glasses with the salted herb rim by running a slice of lime along the rims of the glasses and lightly dipping them into the salt herb mix. Combine the Tequila, Mezcal, Lime Juice, Dry Orange Curacao, Agave Nectar, and grilled peach halves in a blender. Without adding ice yet, pure`e the ingredients until smooth. Now add the ice, about an equal amount of volume as the pure`ed mixture. Blend until frothy, adding more ice as necessary. Pour into prepped cocktail glasses, garnish with fresh herbs, lime wheels, and peach slices. The last thing you need to do is enjoy. Cheers friends.
Blue Cosmo Beach Bag:
This cocktail is perfect for beach day, or any day hanging out in the back yard. A frozen take on the classic cosmopolitan. Blue Curacao was added for a kick of color, along with White Cranberry Juice for a smooth hit of aweetness. This frosty drink is perfect for any hot day.
1) 3 ounces of White Cranberry Juice
2) 2 ounces of Citrus Vodka
3) 1 ounce of lime juice
4) 1 ounce of Blue Curacao Liqueur
5) Lime wheels fro a garnish ( optional, but highly reccomended )
Combine all ingredients in a small 8 ounce zip lock bag and seal. Gently shake bag to mix. Lay flat in the freezer for 6-8 hours until frozen. When ready to serve, gently crush bag contents until you have a slush. Open bag and drop in the lime wheels. Serve with a straw. Ps. You do not a beach day to enjoy this frozen cocktail.
Here is a frozen cocktail for all you wine lovers. The summer cocktail season is in full swing. The perfect cure for the summer time blues is a frozen concoction to keep you happy and cool. This frozen rose` is sure to become one of your favorite cocktails to cool off with for years to come.
1) 1- 750 ml bottle of rose`
2) 1/2 cup of sugar
3) 1/2 cup of water
4) 8 ounces of strawberries huled and quartered
5) 2 1/2 ounces of fresh lemon juice
Pour the wine into a large ( 13 x 9 or larger ) sheet pan with lips. Freeze for at least 8 + hours. Bring the water to a boil. Add the sugar, reduce the heat to low, and stir until all of the sugar is disolved. You just made a simple syrup. Add the strawberries to the simple syrup, and give it a stir. Let this mixture sit for around 30 minutes to infuse the simple syrup with the flavor of the strawberries.
Strain the strawberry syrup through a sieve, but do not mash the strawberries through, just let it flow through naturaly. Save the strained strawberries to put on some ice cream later, because that would be delicious. Oh, but the syrup, chill the syrup for 30 minutes.
Add three ounces of the srawberry syrup, 2 1/2 ounces of lemon juice, 1 cup of ice, and the frozen wine to a blender and blend until smooth. Serve and enjoy.
