Now that we are just a few days from Thanksgiving, I thought that I would share some holiday cocktail ideas with you. I am pretty sure that you will love to give these fabulous recipes a try. And ppl lease share them with some friends and family. Now I will tell you that the liquor that is used for these cocktails, is not available in the state of New York. In fact they are available in a few select states. Thus does not mean that you can not enjoy these fine beverages. All you have to do is substitute the liquor with a comparable brand that you can purchase at the local liquor store. Or you can use one of the links in any of my other articles here at loveofspirits.com. So, meet me under the mistletoe for cocktails, won’t you? I really hope that you that you will join. Me for a couple of drinks this holiday season. After the year that we all have had, we each deserve to have a little fun to finish out the year. Plus, with things are looking for the new year, you are better off staying home and having a cocktail or two. As well as letting someone deliver the alcohol to your home. Why risk your life and the families life by going to a store, when you can have all your alcohol needs delivered to your front door.
This is definitely one to meet under the mistletoe and and warm up with.
1) 1 ounce of R6 Bourbon
2) 1 ounce of Spiced Rum
3) 1/4 ounce of Camomile Tea
4) 2 tablespoons of lemon juice
5) Cinnamon sticks
To Make; Combine all ingredients in a heat proof mug, garnish with a lemon slice, and enjoy. Don’t forget to heat up the tea first.
Spirit used: R6 Bourbon
1) 1 and a half ounces of Litchfield Straight Bourbon
2) 1/4 of an ounce of a simple syrup ( equal parts water and sugar boiled )
3) 2 Dashes of Hell Aromatic Bitters
4) Garnish with an orange peel
To Make; Combine all ingredients in a rocks glass ( short glass ) then add some ice. Stir until well chilled. And garnish with an orange peel.
Spirit used Litchfield Distillery Straight Bourbon Whiskey
1) 1 and a half ounces of Texas Bourbon
2) 2 quarts of fresh or frozen blackberries
3) 1 cup of sugar
4)Half a cup of water
5) Half a teaspoon of vanilla extract
6) 1 fresh lemon or lime
7) Soda, gingeeale or ginger beer
8) Ice cubes
To Make; For the blackberry juice, thoroughly rinse or thaw the berries, and place in a saucepan with some water. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and let simmer for about 5-10 minutes, until all the blackberries are softened. Remove from the heat and mash the blackberries with a potato masher. Pour the juice into a bowl or a jar through a large wire mesh strainer or a milk bag. Discard the pulp. Store the juice in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. For the cocktail; in a rocks glass, add the Bourbon and an ounce to an ounce and a half of the homemade blackberry juice. Top off with some ice, squeeze in a lemon or lime and add your choice of fizz. Cola, lemon lime soda gingeeale or the ginger beer. It’s your preference.
Spirit used: Texas Bourbon
Fire Oak Lemon- Blueberry Mule:
1) 2 ounces of Fire Oak Bourbon
2) 1 ounce of blueberry compote or jam
3) Half an ounce of lemon juice
4) Half an ounce of Tipplemans Burnt Sugar Syrup
5) 1 can of ginger beer
To Make; In a copper mug add Bourbon and blueberry compote or jam. Stir to mix together, add lemon and the simple syrup. Add some ice to the mug, and top off with the ginger beer. Garnish with blueberries, and lemon slices.
Spirit used: Fire Oak Texas Bourbon
Spiced Bourbon Toddy:
1) 2 ounces of Fire Oak Texas Bourbon
2) 3 cups of spiced cranberry mixture
3) 1/4 cup of maple syrup
4) Orange slices and Cinnamon sticks
To Make; In a mug or a short cocktail glass rim with brown sugar, add Bourbon and fill with the toddy mixture. Garnish with the orange slices and a Cinnamon stick. To make the toddy mixture,; In a saucepan add 2 cups of cranberry juice with half an orange sliced, and 2 Cinnamon sticks, 1 teaspoon of ginger, 2 anise stars, 5 teaspoons of whole cloves. Bring juice to a simmer, add spices and simmer for an additional 15 minutes. Add 2 teaspoons of maple syrup and combine well. Strain out the spices.
Spirit used Fire Oak Texas Bourbon
Apple Cider Fizz:
1) 2 ounces of 4 Spirits Bourbon
2) 3 ounces of Apple Cider
3) pinch of ground Cinnamon
5) 1 Can of Ginger Beer
To Make; Combine Bourbon, apple cider, and Cinnamon in a cocktail shaker, and shake vigorously for around ten seconds. Strain into a glass with ice. Top off with the ginger beer. Garnish with cloves and a Cinnamon stick.
Spirit used: 4 Spirits Bourbon Whiskey
1) 2 ounces of New York Straight Bourbon
2) 1 ounce of Amaretto
3) 1 ounce of fresh lemon juice
4) Maraschino cherries ( for the garnish, optional )
To Make; Fill a cocktail shaker with some ice, add the Bourbon, amaretto, and lemon juice, and shake well. Strain into a rocks glass. ( short glass ) filled with fresh ice. Then garnish with the cherries and enjoy.
Spirit used: New York Straight Bourbon Whiskey
Mt. Defiance Amaretto Liqueur
I have one last cocktail recipe to share with you.
1) 2 ounces of Xplorer Bourbon Whiskey
2) 1 ounce of Pratt Standard Blackberry Mint Simple Syrup
3) 3 ounces of Ginger Beer
4) 1 ounce of fresh lime juice
5) 1 mint leaf for the garnish
To Make; Combine all ingredients into a highball glass ( tall glass ). Stir until well mixed, and enjoy. Add the mint leaf to garnish if you feel like being fancy tonight.
Spirit used: Xploerer Bourbon Whiskey
Like I said earlier, if you live in a state that you can not get any of these liquors delivered to you, you can always use another brand of bourbon. Like Jim Beam or Buffalo Trace bourbons.
