RED Meat; Red Wine, Seafood; White Wine:

Have you ever wondered what type of wine to serve with the meal that you have made? If this is new to you, it can be a little intimidating, so I would like to help clear this up for you in today s topic. Red meat, red wine, seafood white wine. I hope you find this article helpful.

Red Meats:Steak And Red Wine

When you are having red meat with dinner, steak burgers, meatloaf, any red meat, typically you would want to serve a red wine with this meal.

Now if you are new to drinking wine, I would suggest that you start with a Merlot. Try to stay away from a Cabernet Sauvignon. The Merlot will offer you much better drinking experience. This is due to it’s low tannin levels, what causes the drying effect in the mouth. The Cabernet Sauvignon has a high level of tannins. This usually causes people to stop drinking wine.

I myself would love for you to continue to drink wine, and explore some different one from time to time. Our lives are too short to get stuck on the same old things.

Seafood:

Now, we are getting to the sweeter side of life. When you are planning on having a seafood feast, it is best to offer a white wine to your guests. For me it does not matter what white wine you choose. All the ones that I have tried have had a sweet taste to them. I take that back, I have had one that was on the dry side. And for the life of me, I can not remember which wine it was. When it comes to white wine, I tend to go with a muscoto.

Seafood And White Wine:

A muscoto for me, brings out the briny flavor of the seafood. And helps me to enjoy the seafood a lot better. If you are not into a sweet wine, then you can explore other white wines to have with your seafood feast. After all, there are a ton of wines on the market. I am not trying to be pushy, but, did you know that you purchase wine from this site and have it delivered to front door. Depending on where you live, you can get it delivered within about a one-hour time frame.

By the way, if you want to know more about the effects of tannins in red wines you should check out my article buying wine you don’t need to be an expert. Keep in mind that if you happen to purchase anything from this site, I do make a small commission from the sales.

Surf And Turf:

For those of you who do not Know what surf and turf is, this is a term used to describe when a combination of meat and seafood is paired together. Now, this where things get a little tricky when choosing a wine to have. I say it is your lucky day, you get to have a glass of both, red and white wine.

You can always do what I do when I’m having a surf and turf meal. That is to have a whiskey cocktail, and forget the wine all together. A few years ago, the wife and I went to Main for a weekend. While we were there, one of the nights we decided to have dinner at the Weathervane seafood restaurant. I love seafood, and the wife can not stand it. So, when we ordered our meals, I decided to order a margarita with my meal. I believe that I ordered a fisherman s platter, and was not in the mood for a glass of wine. Both of us, my wife and myself did not want wine with our meals that night. Don’t ask me what she had for the meal, or for her cocktail, I can’t remember.Surf And Turf:

Your choice:

You can whatever type of wine that you like, with whatever meal that you like. It was my intention to clear up the basic pairing of food and wine for you. It all comes down to your personal preference. If you like red wine better than white wine, then by all means drink red wine with seafood, and vise versa, drink white wine with red meats.

Lets no forget about chicken, and pork products. These are meats that I typically serve white wines with. You don’t have to follow what I do, you can do what you want. It is just my opinion on what wines to pair with what meals. Pizza is defintely one of those foods that you can have either white wine, or red wine with it. Generally speaking, when I am having pizza, like tonight, I will have a beer with it. That is just what I like to have with my pizza. Beer or a red wine, is my prefference with pizza.

Red meat red wine, seafood white wine, is the standard for those food pairings. However, this is America, and we can do whatever we want, within reason. Alwaye keep what you do within the right side of the law. Again trhis is your choice, but  remember, if you break the law and get locked up, you will not be able to enjoy a cocktail whenever you would like. Although, i am pretty sure that bubba would”nt mind sharing his toilet water with you. As long as you share something with him.Pizza:
